Sorry if this is in the wrong place but figured support forums wouldn't be needed for this basic question. =P I've had horrible lag with my console since I got it, I assumed it was a defective console to find out it is in fact my TV causing this problem.
I am looking to upgrade my TV to a 32" Samsung 1080P 120hz refresh rate for about 250-300$ and wanted some suggestions to help ensure I won't have this same problem again.

    :)

    Console war is over.....

I don't see the point of it. How is this different than simply hooking up both consoles to an HDTV?

    HDTV > Laptop Screen.

My opinion is which ever TV you get make sure to check if it has a gaming mode. Most TV's today do, the gaming mode is supposed to help with lag. I'm so happy with my Vizio 60" model: E600i-B3 best TV I've ever had so far.

  5. Don't bother with any of the "smart" TVs, i never use any of the features on mine, I've seen regular 50 inch TV's going for something ridiculous like £280!

I got that Samsung it's a Smart Tv but all your features are on your Xbox. Try to gety the highest refresh rate and FPS (Frames Per Second) for best quality

    1. Just be aware that some HDMI ports on televisions or multimedia displays, are not designed for gaming consoles with varying frame rates, and user manual will generally state what HDMI port is recommended for lower input lag and/or higher refresh rates
    etc.

    2. Samsung are not necessarily the best on market, and some models do have issues.

Panasonic, Sharp (Own Pioneer) and LG have been releasing some great quality televisions as of late.

Myself and other family members had nothing but horrible experiences with Samsung TV's.. so I suggest you don't go with Samsung at all. I would either go with LG or Sony. I had Sony 32" TV and loved it, though I recently upgraded to a LG UHD 4K 40" Smart
TV. Games look absolutely amazing on it. But like someone else said here, if you don't plan on using the Smart features of a TV, then shop around. Never hurts to read reviews of other users. That's how I ended up choosing the LG.

    Good luck.

  10. Current display is a 32" Dynex 720P 60 Refresh rate. And I believe it's the display or HDMI port because it works fine on my brothers TV which is an old Toshiba.

I have a Sony KDL40EX720. It's a Full HD 1080p HDTV, weighs only 10kg with stand, and it has an anti-glare anti-reflective display so it doesn't reflect like a mirror, something which Samsung HDTV's are known for doing especially when in a sunny room. But
the picture is so sharp that jaggies in pictures less than 900p is common. And it has 4 HDMI ports and 1 USB port and is 3D capable. The refresh rate I think is 200hz or something. It's also super thin too only 2.5cm thick.

  14. Anything "new" should be able to run the current consoles just fine, you can get TVs dirt cheap nowadays.
