    HDR10 with Sony VPL-VW665

I have an Xbox One S and it is connected to a Sony VPL-VW665 4k projector. The projector supports 4kHDR. It has the BT2020 color space. I am able stream my Roku Ultra at 4k HDR.

When I go to the 4K settings on the Xbox with this setup it tells me my TV does not support HDR10 and HDR will not be displayed.

    Any ideas?

    TIA

    :)

Higher Resolution from Xbox 360 to Sony VPL-PX40 projector

    Hi,

I'm trying to get better resolution out of my projector (Sony VPL-PX40) than the composite cables will provide. Since its the 360 I only have component, composite, and hdmi which the projector only has one of. I purchased an hdmi to DVI cable but the picture
doesn't display correctly. What would be the best route to 1080i the projector can support? What cable do I need to buy?

Sony Bravia X720E apparently doesn’t support HDR10 on Xbox One S...

I recently purchased a Sony Bravia X720E 4K UHD TV (KD-55X720E) and for some reason when I set up my Xbox One S, I keep getting a message saying “your tv setup doesn’t support HDR10” when, after some investigating, it’s actually supposed to support HDR10.

    Link to article

The cable that comes with the Xbox One S comes with a high-speed cable and is plugged into the TV.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

    Hi

    Please follow this
    troubleshooting guide
for 4K and HDR issues but initial check I would be is to make sure you have set the HDMI port you plug you Xbox One S into is set to 2.0 and your using the supplied HDMI lead.

I did try that. My projector displays HDR from pretty much every other source except my Xbox One.

    Hey Miss Bijoux,

So I unplugged from the amp and plugged a projector which I can see what HZ the output from the x-box is (sony VPL - 55es). I also changed to another piece of content. And basically the output from the X-box is still 60hz I've tried turning it off and on-again,
so really not sure whats going on.

The X-box doesnt seem to want to output 50hz!?!?!?

Higher Resolution from Xbox 360 to Sony VPL-PX40 projector

If HDMI to DVI doesn't work, next best thing is getting the HD VGA cable for Xbox 360 and use that in 720p/1280x720 or the component cable at 720p. The reason I recommend 720p instead of 1080i is for a couple of reasons.

    -

    1. You have an LCD projector which is a digital progessive type of display. Interlace is not suited for this type of display (interlace was intended for CRT displays), but if you can't use a digital connection, then analog is the only way (but with progressive
formats like 720p instead of 1080i which is interlaced).

    -

    2. Progressive allows for faster display of your controller button presses on screen than over interlace. Progressive shows the 30 or 60 frames in one 60 hertz field each second. Interlace splits those same 30 or 60 frames into seperate 30 hertz fields to
be combined into 60 hertz. It takes longer because only half of the resolution (why people say its actually 1920x540 instead of 1920x1080/1080p) is flickered each second.

    -

So in summary, you want to try and use Progressive resolutions with LCD, Plasma, and DLP. It will make your actions less delayed onscreen and less blurring will occur. This is why 1080i is removed from Xbox one. But with an analog connection if you can't
get the HDMI to DVI cable working...
