    HDR10 Malfunction


    I bought an xbox one S back in mid august and a I have a 4k tv with HDR10. It said on my screen that my tv does support hdr10 on the xbox. Now all of a sudden when I go into 4k tv details, it says my tv does not support it. HDR10 is turned on on my tv
    and everything is plugged in correctly. I just wanted to know is this an Xbox problem with an update? I am a preview member so maybe an update came out that messed it up. Let me know if anyone else is having this problem.

    Xbox one X compatibility with TV's

    I have the Samsung 58" version of this TV, & while it doesn't specify HDR10 on the packaging & information, my XBOX ONE X recognized it as HDR10 compatible. The console itself gives different terms that manufacturers use to indicate that their TVs employ
    HDR10. Hope this is useful!

    Is there a bug with the xbox one s detecting hdr10 ?

    Also folks as I've posted before

    Because a TV is HDR, it doesn't automatically mean it's HDR10. Best to phone your TVs support folks and double check.

    If they confirm its HDR10 compatible then it's just a case of making sure the right settings on both console and TV are enabled.

    Also check if your TV needs updating. I know certain Samsung models from 2015/16 were not HDR10 but with an update there were

    Unfortunately if your TV isn't HDR10 ( could still be HDR ) then it won't be able to use all Xbox One Slim features, HDR10 gaming etc

    HDR10+ May not yet be an industry standard so isn't adopted by everyone. It might eventually arrive in time.

    It takes time to develop, we have only recently seen the addition of Dolby Vision. HDR10+ has only landed on the 2018 high end Samsung and Panasonic TVs. Give it time.
    I wonder how much better it is? If it cannot be added to this gen of consoles, then hopefully next gen.
