  1. HDR10 capable monitor not working with x1x

my monitor is the BenQ EW277HDR, it is the 1080 p 27-inch hdr capable monitor. I've encounter a wired thing, the game on PS4 Pro that support the hdr work perfectly on this monitor( it will automatically switch from standard to HDR: ON), but on the xbox
one x the setting told me my tv (which is a monitor)doesn't support HDR10 and when open the game it will still shows standard mode, and if I push the HDR button to force start the function it will shows HDR: emulated. which makes me super confused, can anyone
    give me some advice?

    :)

    How do you enable FreeSync?

I have a FreeSync capable monitor and a high speed HDMI cable connected. In the monitor options, FreeSync is grayed out like it is not active. Does something need to be enabled on the X1X? Thanks.

    Hiya!

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it seems like the HDR function isn't working properly for you at the moment. What I recommend doing is checking out these two articles I believe they may have some information that can help you. First one is
    titled
    HDR on Xbox One X.
As well here is the second article on
    troubleshooting 4K and HDR
. I hope this info helps, please let us know how it goes.

    Happy Gaming!

  6. Looking at the specs for your monitor it has 8 bit colour. That would indicate to me while the monitor does support a High Dynamic Range it does not support the HDR10 need for the xbox one

  9. Hi,

Unlike the base PS4 Pro and the PS4 Pro, HDR on the Xbox One X and One S requires a 4K display to be enabled on the console, it won't work on a 1080P display, be that a TV or Monitor.

This is because on release the PS4 hardware had the necessary built in graphics processing power to run game in High Dynamic Range, while the original Xbox One did not.

    Sorry.

Hey Paprika thanks for keeping in touch!

If the proper settings are turned on and the issue persists then
the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a
    Soft Factory Reset
(while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

    • There is a stable network connection.
    • The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)
Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup to make sure the settings aren't interfering with the functionality.Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!
