HDR won't display on gaming monitor (VESA-certified HDR 600)

I have an HP monitor model 3BZ12AA which is DisplayHDR™ 600 and Freesync enabled. My Xbox one X will detect freesync just fine but it says it doesn't support HDR for gaming or video. There's no option to force HDR to display. My PS4 Pro and Windows 10
PC have no such issue displaying content in HDR but the Xbox has no override to force HDR in any format. Can someone fix the detection issues that the Xbox has or otherwise allow an override button?

    DisplayHDR 1000

Display HDR 1000 is a VESA Certification of HDR capability. This monitor having Display HDR 1000 means that it meets VESA's highest requirements for an HDR display.

This monitor should work beautifully for Xbox One X. You can see more information on the Display HDR ratings here.

    Happy Gaming!

    Why xbox not support 1440p+HDR

If you tick 'allow 4K' in the console display settings, this should allow you to enable HDR even on a 1440P monitor.

Be aware though that most monitors, bar the more expensive displays, have really, really poor HDR known as 'HDR 400'. The 400 meaning that max brightness is a mere 400 nits. To put that into contrast, decent enough HDR is 600+ Nits and excellent HDR is 1000+

Gigabyte M27Q monitor and Xbox Series - Black Home screen

    Hi,

What happens if you turn off both allow 4K and the HDR setting? (turning off Allow 4K should turn of HDR anyway).

When your playing games in HDR and go back to the dashboard there will be a momentary pause or black screen. This is normal as the Xbox dashboard operates in SDR and both the monitor and the Xbox should switch back to SDR.

I'm just curios to see if there is an issue with switching between HDR and SDR on this monitor.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the M27Q is an older HDMI 2.0 display and that can be bandwidth limited. Besides, this is only an HDR 400 display which means it doesn't get bright enough for HDR to really stand out. Decent HDR needs HDR 600 or more to actually make much of a difference together with good local dimming.

Just because it can do HDR doesn't mean you need to have it on. On displays with poor HDR implementation having it on can actually make the picture worse.

Have you updated the monitors firmware?

HDR washed out on Xbox One X and S on Philips HDR1000 monitor.

Have you looked through the Xbox Support channel on : "Do my TV and Xbox support 4K and HDR?"

If same problem persists, try other HDR apps like Amazon Prime, Netflix to test the HDR settings on videos. If you are still getting the same results for Xbox and the apps, I would lean heavily on your monitor not being capable as intended.
Yes, even the Xbox itself says that my monitor is compatible with 4k and HDR10 and both for gaming, as the auto-detect tool shows all the green-ticks except for Dolby Vision.

Monitor is certified VESA HDR1000, so it's definitely capable of HDR!

xbox one s can't support FHD / QHD HDR

Xbox one s only supports HDR game in UHD 4K2K 60Hz Timing.

As a result, there is a number of of FHD / QHD displays that suppot HDR can't turn on HDR in Xbox one s.

It should also support FUD / QHD HDR for better compatibility.

Suggest xbox developer to consider to support gaming HDR with 1080p @50/60 hz and 1440p @50/50 hz timings.
Additionally, lots of VESA DPM DisplayHDR Displays are 1080P.
