Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

Good to know we still have no fix for this and MS is just turning a blind eye.

I have a LG OLED65B7V (2017 model) and this is driving me nutz : 4K HDR is enabled and all the indicators are green from xbox video settings.

- On Netflix TV app the HDR is working perfectly : HDR videos do have real blacks, they are not washed out at all (tested on marvel defenders)

- On Xbox One S Netflix app : the same video is washed out in HDR (non HDR videos are fine AFAIK). It can be easily seen on intermediate black pictures which are gray

- But most of all (because I can handle using netflix TV app) the bluray 4K are washed out and I have no solution to this except to reduce the brightness from TV settings. Regular blurays are fine. Tested with Wonder woman 4K bluray

This is weird because it seemed to me that HDR was working fine at first on xbox one s. I tried a factory reset with no luck.

I also tried to connect the TV directly to the Xbox instead of the receiver, tried PC RGB instead of limited range...

I am out of ideas...

 

I used to watch 4k UHD discs on my One S and they looked great. For some reason recently they look washed out on my S and X. What happened?

 

Exact same thing here : at start the UHD discs looked fine. Now colors are washed out (since a few weeks). Which TV brand do you have ?

Both LG and Microsoft released firmware updates in september & october.

Also Netflix app on Xbox seems affected too if you watch dolby vision shows.

I have the same issue with my TCL 55C807, Forza Horizon 3 has a greyish hue with HDR on and I can't stand it. All Green marks are checked except the 50hz one. Well I'll be getting a One X for christmas so maybe that will work better. than the S for HDR.
Oh and Netflix starts in HDR and stays in it so some content looks horrible.

 

Having the same issues as well with my brand new Xbox One X and TCL 55P605. Very disappointed to see so many others having the issue and no acknowledgement from Microsoft.

 

Same issue here with my Sony XBR-65X850B. Xbox One S is connected directly to the TV, no AVR in between. Just to test it out, I bought a stand-alone UHD player Sony UBP-X800 and it works just fine. Please fix.

 

I'm having the same issue on my Samsung MU6100 with the One X. Both Forza 7 and Horizon 3 look strange, most notably, Ferrari's are the wrong shade of red and it effects the guide menu as well (I use the red theme). It looks as if there is a grey/blue haze
over everything. However, AC Origins looks amazing...

 

Nevermind, loaded up AC Origins with HDR off just to check and it looks better off, when it's on the blacks are more of a blue colour.

Sorry, I don’t have a fix either, but I’m just here to say that I am also having this problem. Ever since I turned on HDR mode on my Samsung TV, most of my games and movies are darker and less colorful. I have the Xbox One S. It’s ridiculous that this post
has been active for 2 years and there hasn’t been a fix. Do something, Microsoft!

 

I've been having the same issue I just go to something colorful and the color comes back the dimness only happens when games start
