    HDR settings greyed out with CEC


    When I applied cec settings on Xbox it rebooted , put the hdmi cable from receiver output to TVs specified hdmi arc cec port ( mine was hdmi 3 ) . Made sure tv and receiver all set to cec . When everything came back up the HDR settings were all greyed out . And the Xbox HDR screen my tv was not HDR .

    **** I believe how I fixed this was launch a game like fallout 76 or any other HDR game and this made the HDR options in Xbox settings all checkable .( not greyed out ) . *****

    Not sure how/why HDR on Xbox the communication to tv requires the game info to activate HDR . ( so to speak )

    When your playing a HDR compatible games it will change your TV setting over to HDR Colour Settings automatically, So when your viewing your HDR recorded videos your TV is set to SDR that is why your seeing it grey.
