    I notice that when running any programs on my Xbox One S that the whole TV goes darker. This is within the program and even in the dashboard. When quitting the 4K or HDR program it goes back to it's normal brightness. The only way around this is to force
    my TV into the highest level of Dynamic Contrast.

    This is a pain since I have to turn it on an off depending on the game or program I am running I do notice that other are having the same issue with HDR content on other forums. The TV I have is Samsung UN48JS8500.

    Is there going to be a firmware update to fix this eventually?

    Xbox One S screen dims when Netflix is launched

    I recently purchased an Xbox One S and have noticed the screen dims when I launch the Netflix app. The dim screen remains, even on the home screen, and only goes away when the Netflix app is totally closed.

    From reading other forums, it sounds like it's an HDR issue, but I am curious if there is a solution for this?

    Xbox one S, Netflix dims screen when HDR is enabled

    I've had the same issue since the one S came out. The only way to stop the dimming effect is to shut off HDR in the Xbox settings. Not sure if this is an MS issue or a Netflix issue. But seeing as I can cast 4k hdr Netflix from my phone directly to the tv
    with no dimming, my money's on MS issue

    Im having the same issue. Xbox One S. I start up an HDR compatible game and its dark and dim. Ive done all the troubleshooting and the problem only started after the most recent system update.

    I am having a similar issue on my Xbox One S connected directly to my Samsung JS8500 tv. When I open the netflix app the screen becomes very dim and the screen doesn't return to normal until the app is quit. HDR content looks great using the Netflix app
    on my TV by the way, not dim at all.

    Same here with a Samsung KS7000, connected with the XBOX ONE S original HDMI cable and with all the correct settings enabled (HDMI UHD Color, XBOX settings, etc.). All the HDR content like 4K HDR blu-rays or games like NBA 2K17 look like the colors are
    washed out. Everything seems dimmed, like having a white filter.

    I bought XBOX ONE S to be used as a game console but also as a blu-ray player to complement my 4K HDR TV. Please Microsoft address this issue and solve it ASAP.

    Found out HDR was the issue. If I turn off the HDR everything works fine. Anyone know why all of a sudden HDR would cause my XBox to dim?
