    HDR on Series S Issues

    Hello everybody,

I currently have the Asus VG279QM and just purchased the Xbox Series S. When in “auto detect” for display options in the Xbox it allows me to select 1080p with AutoHDR and HDR10 but my monitor will not allow me to select HDR in its OSD settings.

If it means anything, if I set my HDMI to manual settings (on the Series S) I can choose 1080p 120hz, then it will grey out the option to select AutoHDR/HDR10 and the monitor will register and perform at 1080p 120hz.

VG279QM is a 1080p 280hz overclock capable, IPS, HDR capable monitor, for reference.

Im using the HDMI cable the Xbox came with.

The Series S offers HDR capability, and so does my monitor, so what am I missing here?

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

    FHD HDR

Xbox only support hdr on 4k so we that have a xbox series s and 1080p 1440p hdr 120hz screen cannot get hdr because its not 4k. On ps4 it works tho 1080p hdr.

    HDR on Series S Issues

Hello, how are you? My name is Mateus. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

First, welcome to the Xbox community.

I believe I'm having this issue due to the monitor only supporting 1080P 60 with AutoHDR/HDR10.

Why are some OSD functions of ASUS monitors grayed out (unavailable for selection) after connecting to Xbox Series S/X?

Under the HDR setting, the ASUS monitor gives the dominant power to the source side, only as long as the source side turns on HDR, the monitor will handshaking with the source side, and the HDR function will be turned on directly

The color gamut, brightness, and contrast under HDR all have standard regulations. In order to avoid turning on other functions and causing HDR to not perform normally, ASUS monitors will turn off some OSD options under HDR.

    FHD HDR

Yes we need to let microsoft know.

They are selling series s as 1440p hdr console while not support hdr on resolution other than 4k

My Xbox game clips are lagging

On my Xbox Series S i've noticed that setting the output to 1080p and also recording in 1080p seems to solve the issue... but this also means I cannot output HDR. It might be a conversion issue. Just got my Series X (that I ordered in March), but have not had time to see if there are any issues yet. I will definitely not run it at 1080p SDR just to get clips. Will try recording both in 4K HDR and 1080p SDR to see if there's any problem.
