    Hdr on a 4k tv

Hi I am getting the new xbox one s on release day next month I got a 4k TV already I bought it in the sales after Xmas last year it doesn't support Hdr so how does it affect me would it still upscale everything still or do I need Hdr as well for it to work
is it worth me buying a new TV as not all games are going to support Hdr are they as I want to get the Scorpio as well when it comes out I have never used my 4k TV to watch any 4k content yet so all these new terms not sure what it all means so do you think
I should upgrade TV again or just stick to my 4k TV I got

Thanks for any help I get

    :)

  2. Do I need a new TV? (Skyrim Special Edition and new Xbox One S

    3. Yes you will need a 4k HDR tv to enjoy HDR, I dont think they have released non 4k tv's with HDR

Xbox is pretty cool. But wanna know how to make it cooler?

Pro-Tip: Instead of a 4K HDR TV, get yourself a 4K HDR projector and a huge projection screen.

If your TV doesn't support HDR then their wont be any problems.

I assume that when you get your Xbox One S, in the settings somewhere there will be an option to turn on HDR.

As for whether you want to buy a HDR compatible TV, that's up to you. If you feel that it will enrich your life in some way then go for it. But it wont really do much for gaming, all it means is more colours, so black will be blacker and whites will be
    whiter.

  5. Hi Mondo, I wouldn't change your tv again, certainly not so as to acquire HDR, In all honesty I don't think most people would notice the difference....whereas the 4K is awesome, I have a 4k tv and love the extra detail.

One thing I would bring to your attention is that some brands of tv need to have the 4K enabled in the settings, I have a Toshiba 4K and on those you must enable the 4K on a certain HDMI, so if you're planning to watch 4K content via the xbox one S, just
double check that this is the case...also if you subscribe to Netflix, last I checked, you had to pay extra for 4K stuff, whereas I think it's included via amazon primes service....

    Take care..Hdr on a 4k tv :)

Amazon don't yet have any 4k material, at least in the uk they dont. But yeah Netflix is 7.99 a month for the extra 4k Hdr on a 4k tv :)

Amazon certainly does have 4K content, I've watched some of it. Netflix has much more 4k content though.

My Xbox one X will no longer allow me to record in 4k or 4k HDR

My tv is a 55" OLED 4k HDR tv (I did say in the past it has recorded in 4k and that the tv is running in 4k HDR)

    Xbox One S and HDR

Ummm cause only 4k tvs support hdr

    Even on a ps4 pro

Hate to burst your bubble but hdr is only meant for 4k tv

Hdr sets res at 1440p or.higher and allows.for advance color control.only available on 4k res

The only things that play in hdr on xbox one s is 4k bluray and 4k streaming

If you tried this on a 1080p tv you will have blurry lines instead of a good picture

Because you are trying to squeeze too much res into a 1080p

Hdr onlybworks when the tv and player support HDR and 1080p tvs dont

Neither dods a ps4 slim or originsl

Only pro units do and xbox ome s and .x

    4k TV

An Xbox One right now, no 4k TV will make a difference. It will retain Input at 1080p only. For the Xbox One S and Project Scorpio, start looking for deals and prices like

    https://www.google.com/#q=hdr+4k+tv&tbm=shop

In addition, to realize the best image possible make sure the 4k TV has HDR as a feature. All 4k TV's do not feature HDR.
