  1. HDR Gaming Equality?

Do all the same games that run in HDR on the Xbox One X also run in HDR on the Xbox One S?

Can’t seem to find an answer for this anywhere. And as an owner of an Xbox One S, who bought the console for the HDR capability, I would be pretty dissapointed if it were the case (that my console didn’t get the same HDR capable games library as the X.)

However no need to lay out my case as to why that would be absolutely criminal just yet - as I don’t know! Does anybody know for sure?

    Thank you!

    :)

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

It may be that the TV is not 100% compatible.

I think I’ve had this same problem when I first set up my Xbox with a new 4K-HDR TV.

You may have set the color depth too high in the video settings, likely the “12-bit” option. For the HDR10 profile, you should set it to “10-bit”. I believe the 12-bit option is only for Dolby Vision TVs.

I'm with the understanding that all Xbox One games that support HDR will have HDR on the S. HDR is not limited to just the Xbox One X Enhanced games.

Forza or Gears 5 HDR Brightness von Samsung Q9FN

    Hi!

    I already did the calibration.

This has no effect on HDR.

I want to know how people with the same TV or equal one scan set the Brightness in Games.

    4K not working with splitter

    Hi,

Unfortunately not all HDMI switch boxes are created equal. Does this switcher say it supports HDMI 2.0 and HDR?

This maybe the reason why it's not working perhaps.

    Xbox one x hdr issue

    Depends on the games

Not all games upscale on xbox one x

Also hdr 10 isnt supportrd on movies

    Movies only support hdr anyways

Also use the hdr 10 cable

Usually the ones included in thr xbox version comes with it

And yes not all hdmi cables are created equal

If you are daisy chaining it I recommwnd direct link instead

    It reduces latency

Best option is to use direct for high bandwidth devices and switches or receiver for things like bluray

You can still send out to a receiver use the optical out on your tv thata the way I have it

Choosing my frame rate on settings

My monitor is a Gigabyte M32U. It's an HDMI 2.1 display and can do 120Hz @4K with HDR 10 over HDMI or 144Hz @4K with HDR 10 on my gaming PC via the Display Port.

The issue with your monitor is that it's an older HDMI 2.0 display. This leads to a reduction in the available bandwidth. This is likely why you can't have both 120Hz and HDR.

I hate to disappoint you, but there isn't just one type of HDR. HDR 10 doesn't automatically mean your monitor has great HDR, it doesn't. What makes HDR good HDR is the displays maximum brightness. It is given in nits or one candelas per square meter (cd/m2). One nit is equal to one cd/m2. Typical brightness ratings range from 250 to 350 cd/m2 for monitors that perform general-purpose tasks. For good HDR, a brighter luminance rating such as 500 or more cd/m2 is desirable. Your display is an HDR 400 rated monitor.

Your HDR is just okay, not great. It won't really stand out though. On my M32U I'm not massively impressed with HDR so I've turned it off.
