    HDR Calibration Tool


    Hi,

    My setup is Xbox Series X + LG OLED 55 CX.

    HGIG mode on TV is enabled, then go to Xbox HDR Calibration tool, fit all 3 screens with checkerboards, done.

    Quit the HDR Calibration tool (or restart the console) and then open it again. What I can see is that my calibration is somehow broken:

    1 screen +2 steps from ideal fit (so I need to click left two times)

    2 screen -2 steps from ideal fit

    3 screen -2 steps from ideal fit

    Why this happens and how I can be sure that my HGIG HDR calibrated properly on Xbox?

    Do somebody have the same issue?

    Unlike the PS5, the Xbox dashboard is displayed in SDR, which is why HDR turns off when you close down the HDR calibration tool.

    The HDR game calibration tool is for HDR content and games while Dolby vision gaming is for Dolby Vision games and content.

    I’m good, thanks for asking ;)

    As far as I know there is no way to “factory reset” the HDR calibration tool.

    But you can try factory resetting your console but keeping games and apps to see if that helps

    But before that try disabling temporarily automatic HDR via settings > general > video options (or similar) > video modes
    Once disable automatic HDR test if you can see a general improve

    Each game has a tool to calibrate the contrast, brightness, etc once you start it

    Another option is disable HDR if it’s not very accurate in your console if HDR is not consistent across all the games

    All depends on your TV set yet it's recommended to leave the color space setting set to TV (RGB Limited). RGB Limited is the broadcast standard for video content and is intended for use with televisions.
