    HDR calibration tool won't open with Samsung Q90T


    Hey guys,

    I just got a new Q90T, and I'm trying to run the HDR calibration tool, but it just won't open. Every time I try it just kicks back to the dashboard. I've tried all different settings on the TV and XBOX (disabling VRR and Auto Low Latency mode, Game mode on TV, various other automatic Modes on the TV) and nothing seems to want to work.



    Has anyone seen this before, have any ideas why it might not be working?

    Unlike the PS5, the Xbox dashboard is displayed in SDR, which is why HDR turns off when you close down the HDR calibration tool.

    There are plenty of 4k tv's on sale right now.

    Walmart has a Samsung 50" 4k TV for for $248.

    I've always had Samsung tv's and I'm quite enjoying my 85" 4k Q90T Samsung I got 2 years ago. It runs 4k at 120hz and looks amazing.

    Open Netflix and HDR enables on my TV even though I haven't started any HDR content. Stays in HDR mode until I open another app or game.

    Have you tried to calibrate the HDR settings on your xbox?

    To use the HDR Game Calibration app, press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > Calibrate HDR for games. Make sure to adjust HDR picture settings while your TV is in HDR mode.
