HDR calibration makes some things dark

So i got a new TV and my xbox suggested doing HDR calibration, I never did before so I thought sure why not, except now its making some things very dark. Some menus are dark. Or if i get closer to area's in games it gets dark. Even the calibration app now is dark. I can't find a way to undo the settings and when I go in to the calibration app its very dark. Outside the app the menus are normal colors... makes no sense

I tried a soft factory reset and that didn't work. Same settings are still there. Is there any way to undo this? Or do i need to do s full factory reset? I tried doing the holding both bumpers and triggers in the app, that didn't seem to fix it. Is this tied to my profile ? And if so is there a way to undo that in my profile? Or do I need a full factory reset?

Well, its very late for me right now. And to do all that and re install games to see etc is gonna take some time. So I'll try tomorrow and get back to you. But in the meantime I'll show you what I mean with a video. I'll attach a link to my one drive that shows me on starfield, im outside a lot building, inside is a character, both he and the walls on the sides are lit, I go in and they dim. I back out they light up again, I hit the home button the side menu's are dim, can read the text but they're dark like in the calibration app, I go to the xbox home screen, everything is fine again. It's odd. Anyways yeah I guess ill have to try a factory reset 😒 but im wondering if HDR calibration is attached to your profile because shouldn't a soft reset have fixed it? Anyway here's the link below

Thank you for the information. You can also try to go to the Home screen and select My games & apps, and then select a title/game. Then select Menu > Manage game and add-ons > Auto HDR(Enable or Disable)

Hi, Olddirtycolon! It's my pleasure to assist you with this today.

Please try to manually reset the console this way and see if that will fix the issue.

    - Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired connection.

    - Power off your console, then unplug the power cord to fully shut it down.

    - Wait for 30 seconds.

    - Plug the power cord back in.

    - Press and hold the BIND button (used to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Keep holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    - Listen for two “power-up” tones a few seconds apart.

**Note:** If you don’t hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds or hear any “power-down” chirps, the process has failed.

    - Once you hear the second power-up tone, release the BIND and EJECT

    buttons.

    - The console should start and display the Troubleshooting screen.

    - From there, choose Reset this Xbox, then select Keep Games and Apps.

The process will take a few minutes, and afterward, you’ll be greeted by the console setup assistant.

Note: The Xbox Series S and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition do not have an

Eject button. For these consoles, simply hold the Pair button and press the Xbox button.

Let me know if that works. Thank you!

Not seeing that in the manage game/add ons, it did have that option in game and it didn't change anything. I'll try the full factory reset tomorrow when I have the time and let you know if it works. It's happening in other games too, usually in pause menu's or whatnot, stuff with a lot of Darkeness. I've tried re calibration using the holding both bumpers and triggers in calibration app and setting it 0/1000/1000 as was suggested in a video from a video technician, but still there. hoping it does work and the calibration isn't attached to my xbox profile. Thanks for the help so far. I'll get back to you tomorrow when I get the reset and re installing etc done 👍 gotta get some sleep now.
