HDR Calibration App resets after every shutdown

Problem: HDR Calibration App resets after every shutdown

After every single shutdown / restart, (XSX in Energy Saving Mode) if you open the HDR Calibration App, it shows the exact values as the first time you ran it (defaults). Now, I'm not sure if this actually is resetting the values you have set last time you
ran it or if it's just showing the default values in case you want to re-calibrate starting from default values.

    Anyone knows anything about this?

    :)

I’m good, thanks for asking ;)

As far as I know there is no way to “factory reset” the HDR calibration tool.

But you can try factory resetting your console but keeping games and apps to see if that helps

But before that try disabling temporarily automatic HDR via settings > general > video options (or similar) > video modes
Once disable automatic HDR test if you can see a general improve

Colors are brighter and washed out in games when HDR is active on Xbox Series X

Hey Alejandro, how are you today, my friend? Hope you're well.

Have you tried to calibrate the HDR settings on your xbox?

To use the HDR Game Calibration app, press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > Calibrate HDR for games. Make sure to adjust HDR picture settings while your TV is in HDR mode.
i did it, i reseted to the default setting and then proceed to calibrate HDR for games, i did all the calibration steps but the colors keep looking washed out, for example the game The Medium everything looks foggy and black colors are always brighter than they should, on another more colorfull games all the colors are washed out, and this is not happening with any other device connected to my TV, only with the xbox

HDR calibration makes some things dark

Will this do anything different than doing it through the console menu's? Because all that is fine. It's the HDR calibration. It's made some stuff in games dark, or like when in a game I hit the home button the menu's on the side look dark. But can still navigate them. But as you can see in the pictures the menu's outside a game look fine. But when I go into the calibrate HDR for games app its dark as you can see in the Picture. I did a soft reset already (the one without deleting apps or games) will doing it the way you're suggesting do something different?

    My screen is blue?

Hi Matthew, my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

Have you tried to use a different HDMI cable?

Please, try calibrating your HDR settings:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > Calibrate HDR for games.

Make sure to adjust HDR picture settings while your TV is in HDR mode

If it does not work, you can try a system reset.

Before you continue, make sure you've got the account sign-in information. You'll need it to log back into your console after the reset.

    You can follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

Select Reset and keep my games & apps.

If nothing solves it, you may need to submit a repair request.
