    HDR blanked out in settings?

    avclub.gr/.../page4

I just found this forum post above (you need to scroll down a bit) with a very useful chart about different types of TVs. Looks like "UHD deep colour" is no real indicator for HDR10. My TV (LG UF690V) isn't HDR capable. Well ... I wanted to buy a new TV
in about two years anyway... I think you really need an OLED TV to fully take advantage of HDR.

But maybe there is still a better picture with the UHD deep colour feature enabled.

  2. if UHD Deep Color is not HDR10 then microsoft needs to take that BS down saying it is! Main reason I got this system is cause i believed it would work correctly with my tv because THEY said it would. This is false advertising.

  3. Funny I have lg65uf8600 also with uhd deep color. My xbox one s says the same thing. Go back and select hdr to enable but is blanked out. I called LG who said that my TV doesn't support hdr. The only problem with that is if I go to the Netflix app on my
TV and go to the movie The Ridiculous 6 and hit play my TV pops up a message (HDR ON). Then I exit the movie and it say (HDR OFF). I wish Microsoft would just let us select the boxes so if the TV picks up the signal it'll work. If it doesn't then we can turn
it off. No need to over complicate things.

    HDR blanked out in settings?

I have the same issue with a LG Monitor - seems this Deep colour setting is confusing the xbox

i need mine enabled for the 60Hz mode to work - but i enable this and we get the issue - Playstation with the new HDR update has a deep colour mode and a hdr mode option, seems they have seperated the 2 maybe microsoft need to do the same

  5. Deep colour and HDR are completely different technologies as I have found out the hard way after being told that they were the same by Currys some 6 months later after spending £800 I've now gotten a different TV to do the job that the original should have
been able to do. If your Xbox blanks out HDR then it doesn't do HDR and needs to be able to do HDR10 which the new TVs now specify clearly.

uhd deep colour isn't HDR. Infact you don't need to have it on to view HDR 10 shows. Infact if you turn on deep colour on LG e6 it refuses to play forza motorsport 3.

Thank you for this, now I know that the LG TV I bought won't ever work with HDR on Xbox, even though it says on the support page it can be called HDMI Deep Colour - oh well HDR blanked out in settings? :)

In this thread above someone seems to have the same problem.

I too have a LG 4K TV with Ultra HD deep color. Microsoft states this is like HDR10, I don't know.

Ultra HD deep color is enabled on my console and TV and I have no problems with it but I do still use the old xbox one not the one s. And I don't think there is a visible difference with the old xbox one.

    HDR blanked out in settings?

The HDR setting on the TV is on, it is called HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour and it is enabled on both HDMI ports.

It is set to auto detect and it comes up with 4kUHD.

Have you one into your TV settings and turned HDR on? Silly question but a few people miss that.

    HDR blanked out in settings?

Yup identical issue here and I have a UF850V 55inch and this has deep HDMI enables on both HDMI ports and HDR is blanked out. I spoke to MS and after 20 minutes of literally not having a clue came back saying it's because the TV is already using the HDR?

To me I don't think that's right, usually something is greyed out when you can't use it? And LG came back and said Deep HDMI is NOT HDR it is LG's own version of this. I have said to them that if this is the case then I want to return my TV for a TV fit
for its purpose as it was advertised as having HDR. I hope you guys with LG TV's don't have the same problem with LG. Both MS and LG have been absolutely no use whatsoever and hard to get real answers from and don't really know.
