    Hi,

I just wondering if someone can answer a question for me - when I turn my xbox one on, should it (or is there a way to get it to) automatically turn my tv over to its designated hdmi input? Mine doesn't, and for a machine that claims to be the centre of
your home media setup its seems to be an annoying oversight? My ps4 (and ps3) do it, I just press the ps button on the controller and it automatically switches to the relevant hdmi channel so why doesn't the xbox one? or am I missing a setting that maybe needs
    tweaking?

    :)

    Xbox 360 and HDMI

How are you displaying your Xbox 360 - with or without an HDMI cable? We just bought a new TV today (yay! lol) and since it's HDMI capable, we bought an HDMI cable and hooked the Xbox 360 up with it. Man, does it make a WORLD of difference!

    HDMI splitter on XB1

    do what I did

I put the HDMI switch after my A/V receiver

so HDMI from XB1 to input of A/V receiver. Output of A/V receiver to input of HDMI switch. 1st output of HDMI switch to TV, 2nd output of HDMI switch to projector. gives full audio and now you have options for either TV or projector for everything that is connected to your A/V receiver

Nope, the Xbox One lacks HDMI-CEC, also called "control over HDMI". That enables devices to turn on the TV, switch it's inputs or use the TV controller to control them. For a supposedly all-in-one device, it's a pretty big oversight.

Thanks Koop, thought as much - and youre right, its a huge oversight, I find it really annoying! maybe a future patch will sort it, but I doubt it

I've created a new thread in the 'Console Feedback' section to Add HDMI-CEC Support to Xbox One; here's the link:

    forums.xbox.com/.../1723017.aspx

Hopefully if it gets some activity it may actually be noticed.

Xbox has created a new feedback.xbox.com site that allows users to post ideas and is voting based. Top voted posts move to the top and are supposedly addressed sooner. I've posted a new "Idea" to Add HDMI-CEC Support to Xbox One; please go here and vote
    for it!

    Xbox one and hdmi

The One has two HDMI ports: "HDMI In" and "HDMI Out".

Cable box plugs into "HDMI In"

    Tv plugs into "HDMI Out"

    No Video, please help!

Do you have the hdmi cable plugged in to the right hdmi port on your console? Ot has two hdmi ports. One for hdmi in and one for hdmi out. Make sure your hdmi cable is plugged in to the hdmi out port(the one closest to the power brick) and run that into
    the tv.

Loose power cable for Xbox One S

Check to make sure the HDMI cable is completely plugged in. Make sure the HDMI cable is plugged into the ‘HDMI In’ port instead of the ‘HDMI Out’ port. It is also possible that the HDMI cable may be faulty, consider purchasing a replacement HDMI cable.

Xbox not allowing surround sound via HDMI in

    This makes perfect sense.

HDMI to HDMI is not the same as HDMI to optical

its why HDMI cables and HDMI recievers were created with complex DaC's that also support optical, coax, etc.

    Xbox one and hdmi

No,as long as the HDMI port on the back of your cable box is "HDMI Out", you will be fine. You get a HDMI cord to go from cable box to xbox HDMI IN port , and a HDMI cord to go from xbox HDMI Out Port to tv.
