HDMI to VGA Not Working

Today I brought a hdmi to dvi adapter to use for my monitor,

I plug the hdmi cord into the adapter and nothing comes up, I even try to use another monitor and nothing comes up,

I tried to go through all the settings on both monitors and nothing comes up

Someone Please Help!

Hooking up 360 to monitor via HDMI\VGA adapter

I also need help i just bought a asus monitor but it only has a vga input so i bought a vga/hdmi cord but its not working. Can someone help or explain to me how to get it to work?

Connecting to a computer flat screen instead of a television screen

If the monitor supports HDMI, use an HDMI cable. If not, use an HDMI to DVI cable.

If the monitor only supports VGA, use the AV port VGA cable.

Try the following: Turn off the Xbox 360 console. With the console off, hold the Y and RT buttons on a controller, then press the Guide button on the controller to turn on the console, WHILE STILL HOLDING the Y and RT buttons.

Does the monitor now show an image?

Do you think that the VGA to HDMI will work? I dont need audio because I will be using a headset, I just need the VGA to HDMI cable/adapter to work. And the side problem is also if its HD or not, but the burning question is: DOES VGA TO HDMI WORK? Thanks

Is it HDMI to VGA or VGA to HDMI? These cables don't work in both directions, its either one or the other. These types of adaptors also need to be active. So what do you have?

DVI to VGA adapters are for use with DVI-I ports on video cards. The DVI standard provides for a version that has pins which carry VGA analog signals. DVI-I ports are pinned to provide that output. That's why HDMI to DVI to VGA doesn't work - the HDMI source
has no VGA analog signals to begin with.

For audio, you'll need a digital to analog audio adapter and the requisite cabling to connect the adapter to the Xbox One, as well as to whatever speakers you want to use. They're pretty easy to find on Amazon.

So guys. My Problem is: xbox One with HDMI to HDMI has a Bad picture on my 42" grundig led tv.(sharpness and any modes are at 0) I had the xbox360 with VGA and the picture was much better then now with HDMI. Would that work too on Xbox One with a HDMI to
VGA cable????
