HDMI to DVI or HDMI to VGA?

Hi, This is my first post. My apologies if this is in the wrong section. I have a question about two things. I own an Xbox one. I'm just trying to ensure that I have the least amount of input lag. Will a hdmi to vga converter create more of a delay than
a hdmi to dvi cable? Both are gold plated. The hdmi to dvi is also high speed. These are the only options to hook up to my monitor. Unfortunatley, it doesn't have a hdmi port. I know lame :x I'm thinking the hdmi to dvi won't have as much of a delay because
its not needing to convert from digital to analog. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been doing a bit of research but haven't found much on this. If there is or if this has been answered before - my bad.

If your xbox has hdmi the get a dvi to hdmi cable or dvi to hdmi converter.

HDMI to VGA or HDMI to DVI adapter you need.

I cannot say for sure myself, but I would suggest the HDMI to DVI adapter. Note that this would not provide audio unless the adapter provides for that as well.

Ya, that's what I thought haha. Now I just have to wait for it to show up. I'm not worried about audio. I have that bit taken care of.

I use a HDMI to VGA adapter with my projector and there is no noticeable lag, even when playing Rocksmith 2014 which would definitely show it if there were any. But DVI would still be better if you have an option since it doesn't have to be converted to
an analog signal.

I have Mitsubishi plasma from about 2002, that only has a vga/component input. Never had any issues using the hdmi to vga adapter.

@icestorm: ok, thanx. I also try a HDMI to DVI cable AND a DVI to VGA Adapter, so i get a HDMI to VGA. But i didnt get a picture or audio. My HDMI to DVi is a 21 pins, but the DVI to vga is 21+4 Pin Adapter. mybee thats the Problem????

DVI won't pass audio. Video only. Same as VGA.

DVI to VGA adapters are for use with DVI-I ports on video cards. The DVI standard provides for a version that has pins which carry VGA analog signals. DVI-I ports are pinned to provide that output. That's why HDMI to DVI to VGA doesn't work - the HDMI source
has no VGA analog signals to begin with.

For audio, you'll need a digital to analog audio adapter and the requisite cabling to connect the adapter to the Xbox One, as well as to whatever speakers you want to use. They're pretty easy to find on Amazon.

If the monitor supports HDMI, use an HDMI cable. If not, use an HDMI to DVI cable.

If the monitor only supports VGA, use the AV port VGA cable.
