HDMI Switch or Receiver?

So i have:

Xbox one, chromecast 2, comcast cable box, samsung j550 2.1 300w soundbar, and samsung un55fh6200 tv.

I have comcast hdmi to xbox hdmi in Xbox hdmi out to tv hdmi in. Soundbar hdmi out to tv hdmi in (input 2)

No slot for chromecast unless i unplug the xbox hdmi cord in the tv.

Should i get an hdmi switch or better off just getting a receiver at this point? I plan on upgrading my tv and soundbar within the next year if that changes anything.

Connecting HDMI Splitter into Xbox One HDMI Input?

I would think the answer is yes as long as the HDMI switch you have has either a manual switch for which device you want or if you have one device powered off. I think the way HDMI switches like that work is usually a remote or manual switch since it needs
to know which input to pass to the output. The key is don't buy an HDMI splitter you want an HDMI switch.

I vote switch.

Can you connect the HDMI's like so:

Comcast box to Xbox One to Sound Bar to TV?

If you're going to use the Chromecast, put the switch before the Sound bar.

I'm assuming you want quality audio for both.

That should work. I think. Right??

I found the error - the HDMI I was not switching out was receiver to TV. It's the one that was broken - I don't know how but switching the HDMI from receiver to TV fixed my issues.

I had the same problem with my switch box at launch. what I wound up doing is: Since my Reciever has 4 hdmi ports, I put the xbox one directly into one of the receiver hdmi's. I hooked my hdmi switch box up to hdmi 4 on the receiver and hooked up my ps4,
ps3, and wii u to the auto switch. 8 hdmi ports is enough for me (barely).

Hello again, have you tried the Xbox on every HDMI input on the receiver? If that doesn’t help then switch the HDMI lead to another output on the receiver and try the Xbox on every HDMI input again.

Sorry, I don't have a suggestion. I'm trying to visualize your config. Are you using your receiver as a switch for most devices, going from the receiver HDMI out to Xbox HDMI in, and then Xbox One HDMI out to the TV/monitor?
