    Hdmi struggles

    Hello fellow xbox users

I recently bought xbox one so I gave my younger brother my old but still fine working xbox 360. Now I was trying to connect it to a television in our living room with a Hdmi cable. I always ha dmy xbox connected to my monitor so I could easy switch to gaming
and working on my computer. Now I did have the xbox connected to this television in the living room before with HDMI and it all worked perfectly fine. Now for some reason it doesn't work anymore if I try to connect it and switch to the right channel I get
no connection at all, just nothing not even a black screen, just nothing happens. At first I thought it was the HDMI cable but after trying 4 different ones (which all works with other devices perfectly fine) I came to the conclusion that this wasnt the problem,
after doing research at the internet I tried over a hundred times changing the color/screen settings from my xbox and tv in almost every possible way but still no effect. After this I thought it maybe was not understanding the TV and only my monitor so I tried
connecting to our other television, on this television everything works perfectly fine but when I tried changing back to the other it still didn't display anything at all. Now I did try the other older cables from the xbox but it's just not good looking so
does anyone know how I could get this to work with HDMI again on that television ( it did work on it like a 1/2 months ago.)

    :)

Hey mate, it really does sound like the HDMI port on that TV is stuffed, especially if you're using the console and HDMI cables without issue on other TV's or monitors.

Have you tried another device like DVD player with HDMI on that TV?

Thanks for your reply but I've tried all HDMI ports available on the tv and they all work fine with other devices I plug in.

  6. So just to confirm you're saying that the Xbox works on another TV, but won't work on the other? Also that other devices will work on the HDMI port that the Xbox doesn't?

Have you tried resetting the display settings when on the TV it doesn't work on?

To reset your display settings, follow these steps:

1.Make sure that there’s no disc in the disc tray.

    2.Turn off the console.

    3.Turn on the console.

Note If you’re using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, make sure only one wireless controller is connected to the console and then turn off and restart the console by using the Guide button on that controller.

4.As the console starts, press and hold Y while pulling the right trigger on the controller. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

Xbox 360 E or Xbox 360 S console: To reset display setting on these console models, you can also just turn off the console and then hold the power button on the front of the console down for about 10 seconds. (The lights will flash several times.)
