HDMI sound stopped working suddenly 360

I woke up this morning, turned on my xbox 360 nd no sound. I have it set up with a hdmi cable. Everything worked fine for the past 4 or 5 months. First problem ive had with it. My turtlebeaches work fine( hooked up with an adapter) except theres this anoying
buzzing sound comin from em. Ive unplugged everything several times, tried to start it up without my turtlebeach plugged in, used different cords, tv's, different hdmi slots, still nothing. Ive looked up and tried everything. The y nd rt trick, the display
discovery idea, literaly everything i could find, i tried. No luck. Idk what else to do at this point.

can you plug another device into your tv using the same input as you use for the x box I know you said you tried the laptop and it works fine but this sounds like an issue with your tv. let us know the results

It is neither the HDMI Cable or port on either the xbox or TV as they have been tested and work fine, as described in the first post.

 

It appears that the logic board responsible for HDMI audio is going on your system. Unfortunately there's nothing you can really do at this point. Your Xbox seems to be dying. You could, try using the other audio option on your console, but there's no guarantee
that will work.

 

Same thing happened to me today! I played not even 24 hours ago and everything worked fine! Tonight I tried to play and no sound... I tried a new HDMI cable and still nothing... Weird you had the same issue on the same day...

 

So got mine to work... Somehow just going into the sound settings and changing the digital output from dolby digital 5.1 to stereo fixed it... Then I put it back to 5.1 and it the sound continued to work.... Weird, hope this doesn't keep happening.

I'm just kicking myself for not trying this first, instead of immediately unplugging everything and rewiring and making a huge mess...

 

Well, settings don't change automatically. Normally when you have 5.1 selected, only certain sounds don't play, unless your TV just doesn't support the format.

 

Well, not sure what to tell you. There was a kind of buzzing sound, almost like the speakers were blown. Have had it on 5.1 sound since I set it up, and I'm not sure what happened. Some kind of glitch?
