I selected DTS as my prefered oudio output option but everytime i turn on the console, the setting is different. It goes to 7.1 output and I have to go to settings and get it back to DTS. It´s like the console is not memorising my setting. Thanks

    :)

    Xbox one optical update?

i have not tried the optical out directly on the xb1... i have run my dolby surround on a (out) for my tv... i guess i should try it off my xb1 and see if i get the update??

it would make no sense to me that it would only work with a headset/astros/tb... to get the update thru a plug in on the controller..

i have used my xb1 hdmi out to my tv and used the coax/aux audio output to my digital bar... games like bf4 have changed compared to convential speaker/tv speakers... but forza5 sounds the same... and really in twitch streams it dosnt have the output/digital feed like it would on personal console/game..

so if it was bundled in with the update i got it.. if i had to connect some other way than i did not or was not prompted to at any point that i connected the soundbar.

    i followed this:

Audio receiver with optical or sound bar

This is a slightly more complicated configuration that may require cables other than HDMI cables. This option provides full surround sound from your television set-top box. It’s best for older A/V receivers that either don’t have an HDMI port or don’t support audio over HDMI.

Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to the HDMI input on your television.
Connect the audio output from the television to the audio input on the sound bar using either HDMI or Optical S/PDIF cables.

unless i am missing something my coax wont plug in to the back of my xb1.. i have to go directly from the tv.

    Atmos Surround Sound Issues

    Hello,

I recently bought a Samsung KWH950 5.1.4 Atmos sound bar.

When the audio settings are set HDMI output, bitsteam Dolby Atmos as directed by the Dolby app. The system outputs surround sound for Blu Ray movies, whilst Netflix titles and movies from the Microsoft store will only output 2.1, yes I checked and they're
    5.1 titles.

I have to change my audio settings to HDMI output, bitstream 5.1 uncompressed to get surround sound from Netflix titles and Microsoft store titles.

Is this a bug or working as intended? It is annoying to have to change my settings to take advantage of the Atmos speakers.

    Thank you for your help.

Dear Someone! I have no sound in Forza MS 8/X box series X, but every other game has....what could be the prbl! Thanks for the answers!

Hello, Viktor S. I'm Arturo, and I'll be glad to provide assistance with your inquiry today.

Could you try changing the sound output option you have selected on your Xbox?

You can do this by opening Settings > General > Volume & audio output.

In the HDMI audio output option, please change it temporarily and select another one.
For example, if Dolby Digital is selected, change it to Stereo uncompressed.
Then restart your console and verify if you have sound in Forza Motorsport.

Note: Make sure to test the sound with every HDMI audio output option available.

I'll look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Arturo.

Xbox one S low resolution mode

Hi, try changing the HDMI output option from Auto Detect to HDMI, then go back to the video output menu and try selecting 1080p. If the HDMI output is already set at HDMI then try changing that to Auto Detect.
