  1. Hdmi problem

So for years I've been connecting my 360 to my tv with an hdmi cable. But seemingly out of nowhere I turned my xbox on the other day and instead of high definition, the screen had black bars on either side and also there was no sound. I've tried various
hdmi cables but the problem persists. I've tried to adjust the resolution settings, but no HDTV settings appear, only standard definition resolutions. I was able to connect with another Xbox to the same tv, leading me to believe the xbox is the root of the
problem and not the tv. Anyone ever had a problem like this? Can't seem to find any solutions. Thanks

    :)

Did you purchase the Best Buy Xbox One deal?

HDMI switch solves all your problems.

    xbox faulty

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds frustrating. Did you connect it straight to a tv with the supplied HDMI cable? I had some flicker issues and it was the HDMI cable. I mean it is possible you got two bad systems, but it is also possible you have a couple of crappy HDMI cables lying around your house, like I did.

    Hey xX Birdman 23,

I have never had these problems before myself. But I have heard of this happening.

Since you did say something about you not being able to fix it with changing settings on TV, and on the Xbox.

I think it may be something internal. Have you recently done anything with it that may have damaged it at all?

  5. Hasn't been damaged, my guess is that maybe something is wrong with the hdmi jack on the xbox itself

Check your Console's resolution settings. You can do this by..

' Dashboard > Settings > Console Settings > Display > HDTV Settings ' and select your desired resolution, one is probably not selected somehow. If the option ' HDTV Settings ' does not show, then check your HDMI cable. Is it frayed, is any wire exposed,
or is there any major kinks, is it an aged cable? If any of these are true, you probably need a new cable. If not, then it is probably your TV/Monitor or your Xbox Console. I would try the new HDMI cable first though instead of getting a new TV/Monitor/Xbox
when it was a 10$ cable that was the problem.

    HDMI Problem..

Check your Advanced Image options on TV & try turning Noise Reduction off, while using HDMI (if Available)... It will sharpen the words on screen & True Motion (User) (Page 69) has a Judder & Blur Adjustment too..

LG Recommends using 1920x1080p for your TV, for best picture quality, while using HDMI.. Frames Per Second (30p) & Hertz (50Hz) are totally different too..

Frames Per Second = How many picture slides make a moving picture & Hertz = The Vertical Refresh rate or cycle of pixels on the screen etc..

    .

I would also, recommend using a High Speed HDMI 1.4a (3D Supported) cable for your 3D TV..

You will need to buy the official HDMI cable which includes the official HDMI adapter. That will solve your problem.

    Problem with HDMI

I have the same problem, but in my case I have two screens (LED manufactured in 2013 and LCD manufactured in 2010) and two xbox 360 (arcade and slim), both xbox are not working if I use HDMI in my LCD screen, but in the LED are working perfect, the only
way to make them work in LCD screen is using the component HD AV Cable. The problem appeared in my xbox 360 arcade when I updated to the 2.0.16197.0 version of dashboard and the slim when I updated to 2.0.16537.0. I tried all the solutions in the faq and help
of xbox site and nothing is working. If someone have any idea about why occur this situation will be appreciated the answer. Thanks in advance.

    HDMI Problem

    Hi

I've have the some problem with and LG plasma tv and after hours or research and phone calls to LG which they checked with the same model as mine and it turns out that when the xbox is in any HDMI port and tv is set to that channel all works fine but leave
everything setup and just change the source ie to HDMI port 2 then the signal to the xbox is cut, the xbox thinks the HDMI cable have been pulled, once I and they changed back the channel to the xbox it regained the signal and rebooted.

With the same tv I could play dvd though the xbox over HDMI due to it saying something like secure link not found.

So I was told its was something to do with the TVs HDMI ports and how they are powered and same a conflict with the xbox

Changed telly to Sony and all works fine.

So it could be your TV that is causing it like mine was, used it like that for 2 years then upgraded the TV

    HDMI Problem.

That does sound like a setting or sync issue. I'm surprised your monitor doesn't have another audio input if it has VGA. I would check your HDMI audio settings again, and make sure you try both and possibly restart the xbox after switching.
