HDMI port to TV not working

If the Xbox is working with the same HDMI cable on a different TV, then that would lead me to believe the HDMI port on the TV in question is bad. I had a bad HDMI port on my TV as well that just went out one day. If it works on another TV with the same
HDMI cable then I would say the Port on the TV has quit working.

How the Xbox One works with being able to control the TV is that the Xbox One has a HDMI In port and a HDMI Out port. If a person had a cable set-top box, they would take the HDMI cable from that and plug it into the HDMI In port on the Xbox One, and then
connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI Out port and connect that to the TV.



In your case, I think it could only work if your TV had both a HDMI Out port and a HDMI In port. If this is the case, which I don't ever think I've heard of a thing for just a TV (I guess it could be possible), then you would go from the TV's HDMI Out port
to the Xbox One's HDMI In port and from the Xbox One's HDMI Out port to the TV's HDMI In port.

Does other stuff work on that HDMI port on your TV? Also, be sure you got the cable in the HDMI out port on the Xbox as there is a port for input that wouldn't work for connecting to the TV

If it works on another TV than it most likely not the console. You may have a bad HDMI port on the TV. IF you have others try a different HDMI port on the TV and see if it works. Also use the same HDMI that works on other TV.

Are you able to try plugging something else into the HDMI ports of those smaller tvs to see if the ports actually work, Perhaps a computer with and HDMI port, or if you have an adapter laying around that should also tell you if the HDMI port is in
working order on those smaller tvs.
