HDMI Passthrough using a NowTV box in the UK

Hi all

Has anyone else had any luck connecting their NowTV set top box to the Xbox One's HDMI passthrough connector and getting Dolby 5.1?

Mine just seems to be passing through 2 channel sound.

I know there is a 'beta' option that solves the problem for some external sources (but not all). Obviously I have tried this but still no 5.1 passed through.

My question is, anyone else tried this connection and also found it not to be working with 5.1? ... or is it just me its not working for?

NETFLIX

I had the same issue, everything except Netflix was working fine. Turned out to be my son's video capture box, connecting straight to the TV instead of using the HDMI passthrough on said box fixed it.

 

Freeview

I wouldn't even bother.

HDMI passthrough is totally broken in the UK.

Any freeview box you buy will output at 50Hz.

The Xbox one is not compatible with this and fast moving images like sports or news tickers will stutter.

So don't waste your money buying a new freeview box just for Xbox TV.

I'm afraid I can't help you with this but I wonder if you could tell me how / whether the NowTV box works with Oneguide (it doesn't seem to list NowTV as a distinct lineup, but presumably one could use BSkyB and favourite all the NowTV Channels)? Can you
change channels with Kinect?
