HDMI passthrough lag with Av receiver

Hello everyone. I have my cable box connected to the hdmi passthrough port on the Xbox one. The Xbox itself is connected to my Yamaha htr-3064 av reciever, which has my Sony tv connected via the hdmi output. Everything seems to be working fine in terms
of connections. My problem is when I select a channel to watch. It will take a very long time for the channel to display and sometimes the picture will display without sound. I didn't have these latency issues until I brought the reciever into the mix. I tried
upgrading to high speed hdmi cables for the tv, Xbox and reciever but I didn't notice a difference. Has anyone else had this issue when the Xbox is plugged into a receiver? I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I do have ARC enabled on the same
input.

:)

Fix needed to allow TV with Xbox off
That will not work as the signal from your TV receiver has to travel through your Xbox in order to reach your TV. Therefore, in order for it to work both the cable box and Xbox have to be turned on.
How do you explain other devices such as AV Receivers that fulfill this task (HDMI passthrough) even when in standby/off?

By definition this is "HDMI passthrough" not the half hearted approach MS have taken.

CoD Ghosts had noticeable input lag with the controller using HDMI passthrough, unplayable. GTA 5 seemed to be ok though.

Connecting my 360 to a Home Theather

HDMI itself doesn't cause lag. There hasn't been a single cause of lag directly caused by HDMI. AV lag within the console is a different matter. It's all down to the developer.

Everything occupying liner has lag, but there's a difference between preceved lag and non-received lag

HDMI pass through - trying to use Fire TV stick

Hi Larnzee - but as I have a projector and an AV receiver I can't just plug it into the back of either (no sound if I do so on the projector and no HDMI's on the AV receiver). I would like it through the Xbox as I have numerous APPS on the stick, some of which aren't available in the Windows Store and it's just far more convenient to use the Fire TV Stick and remote than the Xbox controller - hence wanting to use the HDMI passthrough ....

New Receiver question please.

It sounds like the root problem is that your TV is inducing input lag. While you would be able to run HDMI from the console through the receiver which would process the audio, then from the receiver to the TV, it seems that the TV is creating the lag.

.

Make sure you enable "Game" under the AV Mode on the TV to reduce the input lag/processing. With the 360, you will gain no audio performance by using TOSLINK vs. HDMI.

Cable TV stops working after a few seconds when passing though xbox and then A/V receiver.

I have the same issue as well. Denon receiver.. FIOS TV/Motorola Cable Box. everything works fine for TV passthrough when connected straight to the TV, but as soon as I ad the AV receiver, TV signal goes black and TV cuts in and out. hopefully something
that will get fixed in the future. I'm not sacrificing all of my other setups on my home theatre just to have the TV passthrough, but it's disappointing this doesn't seem to work with an AV receiver right now.
