HDMI pass through - trying to use Fire TV stick

Hi all - I know this has been brought up before, but I can't see anything recently and wondered if this feature no longer works as I read the OneGuide TV option no longer does? I have only just tried to use it for the first time by plugging my Amazon Fire TV stick into the HDMI In-Port and going to System > Settings > General > TV & display options > TV & OneGuide. However, the Fire TV stick does not show up there. Both Fire TV and Xbox One S are on the same WiFI network, so from reading up I was expecting to see the Fire TV as a device I could then select. Am I missing some obvious step?

- Xbox One S (2019)

- Epson Projector

- Amazon Fire TV stick 2nd generation (2016 maybe?)

Hi Larnzee - but as I have a projector and an AV receiver I can't just plug it into the back of either (no sound if I do so on the projector and no HDMI's on the AV receiver). I would like it through the Xbox as I have numerous APPS on the stick, some of which aren't available in the Windows Store and it's just far more convenient to use the Fire TV Stick and remote than the Xbox controller - hence wanting to use the HDMI passthrough ....

I have a Amazon fire stick and I have just connected it directly to the back of the tv. There’s no need for it to be connected thru the Xbox as there is a app specific for Amazon prime video.

If you connect the Fire Stick to the HDMI pass-through port, then go to One Guide, you should see the Fire Stick at the bottom . . .
