  1. HDMI Pass through doesn't let me specify 720p resolution.

I have a Windows 8.1 Media Center PC that I've attached to my new Xbox One and I've found an issue with this setup and my 720p TV. My Media Center PC recognizes the HDMI pass-through as 1020p and sets its resolution accordingly, however my TV is 720p so
it downscales the resolution and makes the text on the Media Center PC garbled.

I can manually set the Media Center PC to 720p, which it says is not recommended, but this still causes scaling issues.

I'm pretty sure that the issue is that the HDMI pass-through only registers itself as 1080p and what I need is for the Xbox to register it as 720p for the sake of my Media Center PC.

Is this possible or something anyone else has dealt with?

    :)

'Out of range' on tv when using HDMI

My tv is a hd ready 720p resolution tv. my console wont allow me to change the setting to 720p. it only lets me play on 480p. when i plug the HDMI cable in, it says 'out of range' its not the tv because i got a new one of the same model the other day and
its not the hdmi cable as it works in other peoples tvs. so i think its the xbox. any help?

    Xbox one

    Hi Andrea,

Thank you for letting us know the resolution of your TV. 1366x768 is 720p, not 576i. If your TV has an HDMI port, it likely supports HD 720p at least and would be compatible with the Xbox One. Please look over your TV's owner manual to confirm what resolution
your TV is capable of before you purchase the Xbox One X.

Xbox 360 issue using HDMI cable for 1080p !

I would like to preface my answer by saying I am in no way a video expert so my answer is ill-advised.

You said your TV automatically went to 1366X768 which extends slightly passed 720p

Your TV specs supports 720p resolution which is 1280X720p

1920X1080p IS 1080p resolution which your tv DOES NOT support

One thing to note is Component cables do not output HD (720p or 1080p) *as far as I know

I also think xbox games only support 720p,

Try setting your xbox to 720P in the settings and using your HDMI. I Really hope this helps bud. I think you were confused a bit on the resolutions.

    Most difficult display problem

Have you tried setting the resolution for the 52" to 720p on "hdmi" yet? Maybe it has problems with 1080p.

Screen stretched but no options to change screen format

It won't change screen format because 720p is a widescreen resolution. HDMI only allows certain resolutions to be played. You will either have to use VGA or get a new monitor.

    Losing TV/cable signal need help

Same issue here works for a day or two then need to reboot. I have the same fios set up.

STB and Xbox set to 720P sound turned to stereo.

It seems as though the pass though is not true pass through as I see the resolution changing sometimes to a lower resolution and not changing back. Then eventually it just freezes then get the lost signal message. I have tried high end and low end HDMI
cables. I am able to struggle through this though i shouldn't have to for a 500 Console. My concern is that others in my home are not able to get things working on their own. Microsoft please fix this it is obviously and issue.
