  1. HDMI output mode on Xbox One X

I'm using HDMI port to connect my Xbox One to my TV, and I found the TV silent and the output mode was automatically switched to DVI. When I changed the mode manually to HDMI, the TV started to play sound but the color range was not right anymore, even changing
from TV range or full range. On DVI output mode, my TV passed all color test and HDMI failed all.

I hope there would be any way to deal with that.

    :)

    Hi there,

what happens if you are using a different HDMI cable, also try a different HDMI port on the TV (if available) to see if that makes any difference.

If the same thing happens with multiple cables, be sure to also try to see what happens on a different TV (or Monitor) if they are available.

Trying these things will help to determine what could be causing the issue.

have you checked the settings on your xbox for the TV.

As said try different ports on your TV. Try a different hdmi cable .

Also some tvs require you to turn on some settings in hdmi for hdr 🤔

Uverse SD shows on DVR glitching

I am having the same issue with my setup. UVerse DVR (IPN4320) hdmi output to XBox One with hdmi output to Onkyo TX-SR606 hdmi output to Sony KDS-60A3000.

    UVerse Settings:

    - Audio Digital Output: Surround Sound

    - Resolution: 720p or 1080i

    XBox One

    - Display Mode: Native or Stretch or Zoom

    Onkyo

    - HDMI scaling disabled

    Sony TV

    - Display Settings: Game Mode

With any combination of the above settings all SD recordings and channels freeze and cause my DVR to become unresponsive. The XBox One seems fine as the "menu" button on the remote is responsive.

I was able to work around this issue by changing the digital output mode of my DVR to stereo. After a short delay of a black screen my SD programming worked fine.

What I thought was weird was that with the DVR digital mode set to "surround sound" changing the "display mode" of my XBox One caused the display to change on my TV. But after setting the digital audio mode to "stereo" changes in the "display mode" on my
XBox One dont change the display on the TV anymore. Related to the root cause of the problem? I am not sure.

Best gaming monitor - tv for xbox series x

You don't need HMDI 2.1 for 4k on the Series X...you only need HDMI 2.1 to run at 4k 120Hz. The Xbox One X only ran on HDMI 2.0 but it output 4k perfectly fine.

    Sound Advice: HDMI Output Problems

My Xbox One X has the same issue. I only noticed it doing it recently. I usually have HDMI audio set to output bitstream (DD), but on startup I will occasionally see it has change the HDMI audio output to 5.1 uncompressed. It's easy to notices as my
receiver will show as outputting Pro Logic II instead of DD 5.1 as it should when the Xbox One X is outputting a bitstream signal over the HDMI.

A power cycle does nothing. The only way to fix it is to go back into the audio setting and change it back to output bitstream over HDMI. It also doesn't do it every time the system is turned on. Sometimes it will turn on and remain on bitstream output as it
    should.

Strangely enough I just noticed it doing this since i got a PS4 Pro. Almost as if going from the PS4 Pro's HDMI input to the Xbox One X's HDMI messes things up somehow. Though I haven't been able to find a situation where that can be replicated.

In any case....it seems ludicrous that a setting like that will just keep changing itself.
