HDMI or display port?

Hi ive just bought a new monitor and it has hdmi1.4 @120hz hdmi 2.0 @ 144hz and a display port at 1.2 @144hz im using a limited edition gears of war 2tb xbox one s. Which port should i use for the best picture experience/ quality. Thanks

I use a hdmi to display port active adapter so it does work it’s not a hdmi display port just cable so it works

Ahh ok thanks, would you recommend hdmi 1.4 or hdmi 2.0? or doesnt it make that much difference. Thanks

Hi,

I use HDMI on a 4K 60FPS tv, and the picture is fantastic. I've also used a display port, and the picture was okay. In my personal preference, HDMI would be best, but everyone has a preference. Try both, see which one provides THE best quality picture and then decide which one works for you.

Hi thanks for the reply, its just really confusing as i know theres a massive difference between monitors/tv and then theres hdmi to display port cables🤷🏼‍♂️

with the xbox one s stick with hdmi, even though you can set at 120hz not a single game on the one s will hit above 60fps as the console is not powerful enough.

you would need an active display port adapter to convert from hdmi for the xbox so stick with hdmi.

in settings select auto and enable vrr.
