HDMI issues

HDMI slot on my xbox 360 isn't working anymore I was at a hotel using my HDMI cable just fine the TV there, i packed everything up to get home the next day and all the sudden the HDMI isnt working, i tried using three different HDMI cables on 4 different
TVs it still isn't working, I tried the y + right trigger reset I tried holding the power button while it turned on, I tried going in with component cables and changing the settings but still nothing is working is there anything else I can try or am I just
kind of *** out of using HDMI for my xbox now

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds frustrating. Did you connect it straight to a tv with the supplied HDMI cable? I had some flicker issues and it was the HDMI cable. I mean it is possible you got two bad systems, but it is also possible you have a couple of crappy HDMI cables lying around your house, like I did.

It shouldn't affect quality. Turning Display Discovery off simply makes the Xbox 360 ignore some (but not all) of the E-EDID data sent by the display, revealing settings not identified as supported by the display. It just gives you the option to override
those settings if the display supports them.

There might be exceptions, but I don't think any of the listed resolutions change in timings or such by the Display Discovery option.

 

Hey there, so not even the AV's are working?

Have you tried some of the troubleshooting steps here:

It does sound weird though if both HDMI and AV's aren't working, I've seen plenty of HDMI outputs fail though.

If you have no luck troubleshooting, you can put it in for repair here:
myservice.xbox.com/.../Welcome.aspx

Or if it's still within the warranty period, maybe check out what the store offers where you bought it.

 

No i didnt know about that but ill check them now, also I dont have regular av cables i have the 6 prong red blue green red white yellow componant cable that can switch between hdtv and sdtv but those dont work.half the time cause they are old and shorting
out and a nock off

 

Then what do you mean when you say "I tried going in with component cables" is this not the AV or HDTV cables?
