HDMI Input causing console to freeze/Reboot

    Hey Guys and Gals,

Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if its a known issue,

I'm in the preview update and since the last update i've been having issues with using the HDMI input for the TV app. I like to use this feature to play my other console's through my X1 as i'm short on slots in my TV.

I dont have any issues loading up the other console and playing, The problem is when I shutdown the console and want to return to playing my X1. Its ok for a few seconds as the other console is powering down but as soon as it shuts off it. it causes
my X1 to have serious lag(or freeze) and then eventually power cycles the console. Which obviously shouldn't be happening, If i can get to the console in time and remove the HDMI cable from the back in time everything is ok. This mainly happens
when I connect the PS4 but happens also with my 360.

So is this happening to anyone else or is it just me??

    :)

Is anyone else getting stuck in a loading screen?

GTA Online is causing a lot of players' screens to freeze and force dashboarding or a console reboot. At this time, we have to wait for Rockstar to fix the glitches.

    hdmi re-starts

Are you also using the adapter for the audio outputs on the xbox as well or maybe something for a capture card or headphones. I've never had the xbox reboot while using just an HDMI cable, but when you also use the adapter that gives you the red/ white and
optical audio out, then it reboots when changing inputs.

The problem is the HDCP handshake. Whenever you change inputs away from the xbox, the handshake is broken and it isn't restored until you change the input back to the xbox. Normally if you use just an HDMI cable, this isn't a problem. The handshake is restored
    without the xbox rebooting.

But when you use the adapter, when the handshake is broken, the xbox realizes that you have another cable plugged into it and it tries to switch over to your adapter cable. (There is no HDCP handshake when using component/composite cables, so the console
has no idea that the adapter doesn't have a video cable. It just sees another cable and tries to use it) Then when you switch back to the xbox input, the HDCP handshake is restored and the xbox wants to go back to the HDMI cable. But it can't just switch back
that easy. It has to reboot itself to establish the connection again.

Try unplugging your audio adapter and just using the HDMI and see if that fixes the rebooting. Then you'll at least know what's causing the problem.
