    HDMI-IN Audio distortion

Since the July update, every time I turn on the Xbox my HDMI-IN has audio distortion and I have to unplug it (It being my Chromecast) and then plug back in for it to work correctly.

If I turn the Xbox off I'll have to do it again the next time I turn it on.

    :)

you are correct it is a fire rating. but in my experience non cl2 rated wires pick up lots of distortion. i know if i use non cl2 hdmi cables in wall there is noticeable video and audio distortion.

cat6 i have no way of testing, but it is so cheap that there is no point in testing it out.

    -

so this could be specific to hdmi cables, but i dont want to spend $250 to find out.

  3. Audio crackles and pops

I have been having a similar problem with audio pops and crackles.

When I have my Xbox One connected to my TV with an HDMI cable and my surround sound receiver plugged into my TVs optical out port the audio pops and crackles (only from the Xbox One, not from any other audio source going into my TV and out to the receiver.)
Yet if I plug my receiver directly into the Xbox's optical port the audio plays normally with no distortion whatsoever. I even tried replacing the HDMI cord but got no results that had no popping or crackling in the audio. Hence leading me to believe that
the HDMI port on the Xbox one is having trouble sending audio to the TV through its HDMI cord as I even tested each of my 4 HDMI in ports on my gaming TV and my living room TV that achieved the same exact popping and crackling audio issues.

Hi ROMPHF, Try doing a hard reset on your console by holding the ower button on the front until it turns off then unplug it from the outlet for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug it back in and power back on. Hopefully your tv issue will be fixed.

  5. ROMPHF I have the exact same problem. I can temporarily fix it by rebooting my xbox or unplugging the chromecast but the issue comes back each time I go to use it in the future.

I will try the above suggestion by MaximumExtreme but I have already done the hard reset but not with the additional unplugging of the chromecast.

I have been searching have not found a permanent solution yet.

  6. I just tried this solution and no luck. I did the hard reset, unplugged the power for over 30 seconds and still had the same result.

I have also tried every combination of the sound/audio settings with no luck. It worked perfectly prior to the July update...

Xbox One Audio out of Sync and Glitchy?

    Hi There,

Have you tried using a different HDMI cable and another HDMI port on your TV? Perhaps one of them is faulty. Do you connect your console to a soundbar or other audio device? For the out of sync, it could be your setup which you can then set so the audio
syncs up however the scratchy noises do not sound normal.
Its like a static that partially distorts the audio. Dont know what it could be. Ill try using another hdmi cable. And no, my console isnt plugged into a soundbar or anything else besides my tv.
