    HDMI in and Toslink out.

Simple question about sound pass through on the One:

If I have my Xbox 360 plugged via HDMI input to my Xbox One, when playing the 360 in full-screen mode, will the 360's audio be passed through the toslink output of the one?

I'm about to buy a new wireless headset, and am trying to determine if I will need a toslink switch, or if the One will take care of it for me. Any real help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Toslink to mini plug?

    Hey guys,

I have an issue. I play my X360 on a PC monitor and it doesn't have speakers. I currently and using the HDMI adaptor with the TOSlink and RCA outs to a mimi adaptor goning into my PC sound card.

Does anyone have any experience with the toslink to mini plug? My only other options is the Toslink adaptor or new speakers with hdmi or toslink built in.

Let me know if its a go or not and your experiences with it.

    thanks!

Excellent, yep! Use the toslink and hdmi cable.

Toslink from your xbox to the x41 and Hdmi from the xbox to the pc capture card. That should do the trick for you.

    HDMI in and Toslink out.

Nevermind. I was able to test this myself, and the sound from the HDMI in transfers out on Toslink flawlessly. The only problem with this setup is that the Xbox 360 video, when routed through the ONE, is lagged behind controller input by about a half a second.
This effectively makes this setup unusable for practical gaming. Also the video quality seems fairly degraded.

I did some of my own investigating.

For those with with Home Theatres with HDMI

Cable Box HDMI Out to Xbox One HDMI In

Xbox One HDMI Out to Home Theatre HDMI In

Home Theatre HDMI Out to HDTV In

    .

If using optical audio for sound, connect the toslink from the Xbox One to the HT.

Need help with Xbox One/Cable Box/TV/Receiver/2.1 Speaker Setup

You will need the hdmi cable from your cable box going to the in hdmi on the Xbox one, if your dennon reciever supports hdmi, then take the out of the Xbox into the reciever and then out of the reciever to the tv.

If it doesn't support hdmi then take the hdmi out of the Xbox to the tv, then take a toslink aka spdif cable out of the tv to an input on the reciever.
