HDMI-DVI-D CABLE QUESTION!

I connect it directly to the TV with hdmi.

If I use it with my monitor, i plug in a HDMI to DVI-D converter and DVI-D to my monitor.

I tried it with different hdmi cables, still not working.

DVI-D is digital only. The port needs to be DVI-I for an unpowered VGA to DVI adapter to function.



Try an HDMI to DVI cable. That should work.

They are Paired IceStorm III... As I've mentioned before too... DVI has issues with HDCP & the reason why, HDMI fixes HDCP issues & supersedes DVI..

said i should use the HDMI to DVI adapter for quality. BUT the thing was i was talking about was the converter, not the adapter.

There is zero quality loss using an HDMI to DVI adapter of any type. HDMI is digital. If it doesn't work (defective cable
or adapter) it will be quite obvious.

But what came up was DVI-I or DVI-D and stuff like that wih letters at the end. Is there no difference of choosing or is there a difference?

HDMI is only digital. DVI-D or DVI-I doesn't matter as the HDMI
side only supports the pins used on a DVI-D connector. DVI-I just has extra physical pins, but those do nothing if the other end is HDMI. The one to stay away from is DVI-A, which is only analog and only works with VGA. An HDMI to DVI-A cable does nothing.
It's a scam.

I heard the audio adapter cable makes you reset your console upon a different input. For example when you turn off your tv then it reboots itself. Does this only happen to 3rd party or the official microsoft one.

Reports are that
it happens with third party adapters. I've never had an issue with the several Microsoft ones that I have.
