    HDMI connection

This past weekend I became the owner of a Xbox One. While hooking it up to my TV I noticed that although my TV has two HDMI ports, only one is a normal HDMI connection, while the other one only receives video and requires you to route the audio through a
separate stereo (red/white) connection. Obviously I have to run the One through the standard HDMI port. How would I set up the 360 to work with the other?

    :)

Connect your Xbox 360 Console to an HDTV or monitor using HDMI Cable

If your Xbox 360 console has an HDMI port, you can easily connect an HDTV or high-definition monitor to your console using the HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) cable.

    Here is how:

    • First, you need to connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port.
    • You have to connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI input on your HDTV or monitor.
    • After connecting the cable properly, turn on your TV and console.
If the Xbox Dashboard doesn’t appear, you might need to change the video input setting.

The console automatically uses the default display settings. But you can also change the settings on the console to improve the video display.

Note: All Original Xbox consoles do not have an HDMI port.

    Xbox one optical update?

i have not tried the optical out directly on the xb1... i have run my dolby surround on a (out) for my tv... i guess i should try it off my xb1 and see if i get the update??

it would make no sense to me that it would only work with a headset/astros/tb... to get the update thru a plug in on the controller..

i have used my xb1 hdmi out to my tv and used the coax/aux audio output to my digital bar... games like bf4 have changed compared to convential speaker/tv speakers... but forza5 sounds the same... and really in twitch streams it dosnt have the output/digital feed like it would on personal console/game..

so if it was bundled in with the update i got it.. if i had to connect some other way than i did not or was not prompted to at any point that i connected the soundbar.

    i followed this:
Connect Xbox One to Your Home Theater or Sound System

Audio receiver with optical or sound bar

This is a slightly more complicated configuration that may require cables other than HDMI cables. This option provides full surround sound from your television set-top box. It’s best for older A/V receivers that either don’t have an HDMI port or don’t support audio over HDMI.

Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to the HDMI input on your television.
Connect the audio output from the television to the audio input on the sound bar using either HDMI or Optical S/PDIF cables.

unless i am missing something my coax wont plug in to the back of my xb1.. i have to go directly from the tv.

    HDMI connection

    Greetings Sleety,

The simplest way you can connect your Xbox 360 to your television when your Xbox One is using the only HDMI port, is to use the standard A/V cable that came with it on the tv However if you want to use the HD features of the Xbox 360, then you would want
to use the Xbox 360 component cable, which can be found at this
    link
    .

Edit: is to use the standard a/v cable that came with the Xbox 360 on the TV.

What HDMI input do I connect the Xbox One X?

Hi, on the Xbox One X as with all of the Xbox One range, there are two HDMI connections. One is an HDMI-Out and one is an HDMI-In. You will see next the HDMI connector a label describing what HDMI it is. You connect the included 4K HDMI cable to the HDMI-Out
to display the console on your TV. The HDMI-In is optional. It can be used to connect a Cable or Satellite receiver to your console.

This guide will help you further.

My buddy gave me an original Xbox.one and I know it works but for some reason I can't get it to output on HDMI to any display.

Are you sure you’re connecting it to the HDMI out and not the HDMI in?

    Not.

The connection must be HDMI x HDMI.

    I'm sorry.

    3D mode

Are you using an HDMI cable for connection or other means.

3D will only work through an HDMI connection, please could you try using an HDMI cable to see if this rectifies the problem.
