HDMI CEC with Denon AVC-660H receiver and series X

Discus and support HDMI CEC with Denon AVC-660H receiver and series X in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Console turns off receiver properly but won't turn it on. Intuitively, is it a Xbox or a Denon issue? Has anyone (roughly) the same set-up?... Discussion in 'XBoX on Consoles' started by ulbricht, Jul 13, 2022.

Console turns off receiver properly but won't turn it on.

Intuitively, is it a Xbox or a Denon issue? Has anyone (roughly) the same set-up?

Hi Ulbricht! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

For this is easier to know, as you could use the CEC feature of the Xbox on a different device, if it works, it should also work on this also

Also, according to the manufacturer, your device could need an update to properly work with the CEC feature

Withitn Denon's settings terminology "passthrough" means that the video signal from the source (XBOX) reaches the TV even while the receiver itself is on stand-by. If CEC is on, therefore passthrough is on (following the definition). If it is the case that the receiver can't get the CEC signal from the XBOX while on stand-by, then necessarily we have to switch it on manually.

I am waiting on Denon's reply which I will post here.

Pass trough supposed to work by controlling the TV trough the receiver, but won't work on the receiver itself as I have tested on my own

    Hi Ricardo,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Yes the console turns on my TV through the receiver (which is therefore on stand-by).

    I'm on the latest firmware.

What I'm wondering is whether the CEC signal from the Xbox can turn on both devices at the same time or whether the passthrough option prevents this from happening: similarily, when the Xbox turns off the receiver, it doesn't turn off my TV.
