  1. HDMI cables

Hi all, I have a slight issue with my Xbox one & connecting it to my tv. if I use any other HDMI cable then it barley works but if I use the Xbox supplied HDMI cable I have no issues. I really want to use this 4k high speed cable because I have recently
brought a 4k tv. I've had the same issues with my older tv where if I used any other cable the tv would say check signal cable but as soon as I use the Xbox HDMI cable PUFF! my dashboard pops up.

has this happened to anyone else? if so has anyone managed to fix the problem.

    :)

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds frustrating. Did you connect it straight to a tv with the supplied HDMI cable? I had some flicker issues and it was the HDMI cable. I mean it is possible you got two bad systems, but it is also possible you have a couple of crappy HDMI cables lying around your house, like I did.

    Xbox 360 and HDMI

How are you displaying your Xbox 360 - with or without an HDMI cable? We just bought a new TV today (yay! lol) and since it's HDMI capable, we bought an HDMI cable and hooked the Xbox 360 up with it. Man, does it make a WORLD of difference!

  4. HDMI cables

Hi there, I've not had this issue and can't find too many others that have either, but I thought I would highleight that the standard HDMI cable is 4k capable.

8.Of course, a HDMI cable, a power supply and a Quick Start Guide are included as well.

Here’s a few other insider details – straight from Albert Penello, our director of product planning for Xbox One:

When we say 4K HDMI cable, we mean it. The HDMI cable we’re including is an actual Category 2 HDMI cable, rated for 1080P, 3D and 4K, according to the HDMI 1.4 spec.

  5. thanks for that but I've noticed a huge change in quality when I use my 2.0 cable as a pose to the hdmi cable that was included in the box.

there's quite a few people that have the same issue, search for Xbox black screen or Xbox no signal to tv. one of the fixes is to reset the resolution on the Xbox but I find just giggling the cable works better at the back of the Xbox but I shouldn't have
to do this, I just don't get why my & other xboxs barley send a signal through a third party hdmi cable

  6. The XBOX one is not capable of producing a 4K signal so not sure why you feel the need to use a cable made for 4K. That said, DigitalAssasin is correct. HDMI 1.4 can run 4K @ 30htz. HDMI 2 is needed to run 4K at 60htz but since the XBOX one can only produce
a 1080p signal the point is moot. Some TV's have different standards on different HDMI ports. I.e. some only have one port capible of 4K60, some have only one that is HDMI 2, or uses the new 2.2 content protection standard. That could also have something to
do with it. Check your TV's manual and make sure you are using the best port for the best possible signal. But remember, your XBOX will only send a 1080p signal. The TV will upconvert to 4K. HDM1 1.4 will work just fine for that.

  7. the Xbox has a lose hdmi port that's why it's losing signal & not showing any hdmi lead connect but the standard issue cable is slightly bigger than the 2.0 cable I'm using which is pushing the connection back together. for anyone that does have a 4k TV
they will notice a huge difference in swapping the cable for one that has a faster speed & also a much better build quality.

Question: Will any HDMI cable work for the Xbox One?

Any HDMI cable will work. They just recently ratified the new standard of 1.4 so the cables are as follows:

As of the HDMI 1.4 specification, these are the following cable types defined for HDMI in general:]

Standard HDMI Cable – up to 1080i and 720p

    Standard HDMI Cable with Ethernet

    Automotive HDMI Cable

High Speed HDMI Cable – 1080p, 4K, 3D and deep color

High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet

So you don't NEED to purchase a High Speed HDMI cable, but it would be best for the future if / when the Xbox One goes to 1080p or 4k.

Check to make sure the HDMI cable is completely plugged in. Make sure the HDMI cable is plugged into the ‘HDMI In’ port instead of the ‘HDMI Out’ port. It is also possible that the HDMI cable may be faulty, consider purchasing a replacement HDMI cable.

A lot of confusion between composite and component video because of the similar sounding names.

Also confusion between RGB and component because of the colours of the cables.

    -

Xbox, (and the other consoles) are normally supplied with a 3 way red/white/yellow cable plus an adapter block to fit European SCART sockets. This supplies composite video + left and right audio. This is the worst way to get the video to your TV, but is
also the way that is compatible with the most displays.

    -

If you still use a non-HD TV, the a fully wired RGB scart cable will give you the best picture (an s-video cable would also be a good choice if you have a free socket an no free RGB SCART)

If you have an HD ready TV then component, VGA and HDMI will all give you a great HD picture.

If you have a FULL HD TV (1080p) then component or VGA may work as well (depending on the brand of your TV) but you are safest using an mid priced (£5) HDMI cable.
