HDMI cables suck for 4K beyond 25 feet I'm finding out...

    Xboxers -

I have the One S and an LG 658500 (2016 model) 4K TV with HDR10. All HDMI ports support 4K. I'm struggling to find a cable the REALLY DOES 4K@60hz at
35 feet. I can get cables to work at 25 feet and the one that comes with the Xbox One S is fine but there are a slew of cables on Amazon that are FALSELY advertised as 4K capable at
35, 50 feet and so on. They're all utter BS and many have 5-star ratings because most users are probably using for 1080p.

Does anyone know of a good cable for 4K at 35 feet? Preferably a flat cable. one that REALLY WORKS? There are 2 Monoprice cables at this length that Monoprice swears in their listings and even in their Q&A on Amazon that it WILL WORK and a couple of reviewers
say absolutely it DOES NOT! I've tried Ultra Clarity cables and they don't work either...They're supposed to be 18Gbps. utter BS....

I know that bandwidth is the issue here...4K is pooping out over 25 feet on me...

    :)

Xbox One S audio cuts out for a second every 30 minutes when 4K resolution selected.

The official MS HDMI cable that comes with the One S will do 4K @ 60Hz (6.5ft length) perfectly fine I think. Once you get beyond 20 feet or maybe even 15 feet a lot of cables start to poop out. There are tons of very long (25 feet +), very highly rated,
supposedly high speed (up to 18Gbps) cables on Amazon that claim to do 4K @60Hz. They don't. They're highly rated because so many people (probably 95%) are using them for 1080p, and they work just fine for that. But more and more 4K reviewers are starting
to give these longer cables 1-star reviews. People are even complaining that Redmere "active" cables (that are 1-way directional) are failing for 4K.

A few people on the AVSforum like this one:

Certified Premium High Speed HDMI® Cable, 20ft

    www.monoprice.com/Product

...but it's only 20 feet. I'd like a 35 foot cable for a home theater room. For now, I'm forced to have the One S in a game room next to the TV. The monoprice cable has an HDMI.org certification so it probably really does what it says it can do...

  3. Can't get Xbox One to work with 50ft HDMI or 4K splitter

With the amount of (4K) bandwidth that gets transferred over HDMI, you're definitely pushing the limit at 50 feet. There's no established cable limit for HDMI, but there are reports that the maximum reliable signal goes around your 50 feet (~15m), using
    the absolutely best quality cables.

Attenuation (or weakening) of the electrical signal over that length of HDMI cable is causing it to not display anything. As HDMI is a digital signal, you will either get a perfect signal, or nothing at all.

You will have to consider getting an active HDMI repeater to extend the signal between those 50 feet, ensuring it supports driving 4K@60Hz.

It's a tall order to support this kind of 4K setup. Have you considered moving the Xbox closer to the TV? lol.

Regular Blu Ray not playing at XBox One

XBF Brad A, XBF Crystal P, and Wrightstuff1,

Thank you for your suggestions but it didn’t solve the problem.

I took a guess and replaced the 25 feet HDMI cable from my receiver to the TV. Problem was solved.

I bought a new HDMI 25 ft cable and replaced the 10 year old 25 ft HDMI cable. The new HDMI cable that I bought was a Monoprice Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable. Now even my Blu Ray discs play on the Xbox One. 4k and regular DVDs also play using
    that new HDMI cable.

The mystery though on my original problem is why the 4K discs played and not the Blu Ray. I would think that the 4K discs would not play and Blu Ray would play.

Anyway, with the new certified 25 ft cable, all is well.

If you have a High Speed 4K HDMI cable. What is the longest it can be for Xbox 1X?

Typically you dont want anything longer then 25 meters realistically 10 feet is optimal before signal degration

Also should be noted not all 4k cables are hdr compliant as I found out
