  1. HDMI Cable, TV or is it my Xbox One??

    Hi All,

I've been having an issue with my display becoming blurry/fuzzy at random intervals.

When i start up my Xbox it is absolutely fine but during a game (Battlefield 4) the display just suddenly goes fuzzy.

I then took out the HDMI Cable from my TV and then plugged it back in and it solved the problem. A few moments later it happens again so i decided to change the HDMI sockets as i have 2 of them but still the same problem occurs. I even tried using the Xbox
360 HDMI cable and again no luck.

I am very concerned about this issue as i have only owned the console for about a week and i'm hoping it's not a hardware fault already.

I'd be grateful for any help/advice given

    Many thanks

    :)

  2. problem streaming cable TV through xbox one

I had no issues with streaming cable TV through my new xbox one (HDMI cable from cable box into xbox one), then suddenly it no longer picked up the cable TV signal. I know the cable TV signal is fine since I can re-route the HDMI through my receiver and
pick up the TV signal fine. Is it possible that the xbox HDMI jack has failed? Or some other reason that it would suddenly stop picking up the cable TV signal?

Xbox 360 HDMI cable using 3D

I have been using my xbox on HDMI with the official xbox 360 HDMI cable since i got it and have recently upgraded my tv to a 3D tv.

Do i have to buy a new HDMI cable that allows 3D playback or can i just use my original xbox 360 HDMI cable?

HDMI Cable, TV or is it my Xbox One??

If you've only had it for a week, and you're absolutely sure it's the console that's the problem, then I'd take it back to where you bought it and exchange it for another one.

I'm not entirely sold on the fact, given what you've stated, that the console is the problem. Exchanging it for another one though will be able to tell you definitively if it is or not. If it is, then exchanging it solves your issue. If not, then we can
see that your TV is the issue.

Either way, do yourself a favor and exchange it.

  5. Hi bigbenx88

I think i'l try using another TV in my house to rule out if it is the TV which is causing the problem. If it does persist then i will consider on taking it back.

The thing which bugs me is how it fixes the issue when i disconnect the cable and put it back in which is making me think there is nothing wrong with the xbox itself and maybe just bad HDMI TV sockets. But surely my TV cant have 2 bad sockets, that would
    just be a coincidence.

Thanks for replying, Appreciate the advice!

No worries, I'm here to help where I can.

Some slightly older TV's, the ones that are HDMI first gen for short, do have a hard time with processing the info from the system. It's like forcing broadband speed internet through a dial up modem. It just doesn't work. You need at least a 60Hz TV that
has an adequate refresh rate to process the high end information.

How did the other TV work out for you?

  7. I finally found out the issue!

The display settings on my XBOX were set to HDMI (Auto Detect) so I thought I'd change it to just HDMI and then set the resolution to 720p which my TV can handle.

So far so good, no fuzziness or distortion.

Again thanks for the advice, very much appreciated!

    Lack of HDMI Ports

My cable box has one HDMI too. It's an HDMI out. Most should only have 1.

If you don't want it going through the Xbox One then just put the cable box to HDMI 1 on the tv.

Connect Xbox one HDMI to the Tv's HDMI 2 channel.

You just have to switch inputs each time if you want tv or xbox one.

    HDMI No Signal

I stated that I used other HDMI Cables and another Tv. My xbox worked on the second tv with the same cable, and my laptop worked with the same HDMI cable on my Tv in the same HDMI Port. The Xbox, Tv, and HDMI cable work fine, they just won't work together
    right now for some reason.

Help getting xbox one to show back up on Vizio tv

If you want to use your xbox to control your tv, then you want to plug your cable box or satellite into the hdmi in port on the xbox one. then you connect the hdmi out port of the xbox one to the hdmi in port on your tv(however to watch tv your xbox one
has to be on for the signal to pass through). I personally do not use the tv function of my xbox one, because I don't want to have to have my xbox on to watch tv. I have my cable box plugged into the hdmi in port of my tv, and my xbox one plugged into another
hdmi in port. Then when I want to play I just switch the input on my tv.

Connecting xbox through AV Receiver? Issues

    Hi

Can you add a bit more information, detail the cabling etc.

    Is it like this:-

    XBOX ONE --------hdmi cable--------> TV

    this works fine, but

XBOX ONE-------hdmi cable---------> Yamaha amp -------hdmi cable-------> TV

    doesn't work?

    HDMI mode not supported

If the Xbox is working with the same HDMI cable on a different TV, then that would lead me to believe the HDMI port on the TV in question is bad. I had a bad HDMI port on my TV as well that just went out one day. If it works on another TV with the same
HDMI cable then I would say the Port on the TV has quit working.
