    Xbox One S with Seiki 42" 4K (SE42UM)

I just bought the Xbox One S to use with my Seiki 42" 4K TV. This TV has 3 HDMI ports, 2 are HDMI 1.4 and the Third is HDMI 2.0. It says that through the HDMI 2.0 port it will support 4K @ 60 Hz. I have the Xbox plugged into the HDMI 2.0 port, using the
included HDMI cable. When the dashboard comes up it is being displayed in 4K, and looks great. However Netflix does not have the UHD option. Yes I have upgraded my Netflix account to include UHD streaming.

Also YouTube does not play any 4K videos. I just bought Batman Vs. Superman 4K BluRay and every time I try and play the disk it switches down to 1080p 24Hz. I know my that my TV doesn't support HDR, but I thought that I would at least get to watch videos
    in 4K.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    -Steve

  3. Xbox one s - UHD BLU-RAY 4K on 4K 30p TV.

    Hi

Xbox one s - do play UHD BLU-RAY 4K movies on a 4K TV there only accept 30 Hz P on its HDMI ports. ;-)

Tryed on a Philips 49pus7809 only HDMI port 1, there can't use a 4k Cromecast ultra, it will only go to 4k in 60 Hz and not 4k in 30Hz P.

    Best regards

The HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox One S supports 4K@60Hz.

I've got an Xbox One S as well. I'm using the included cable with my 4K TV, and it all works fine.

The Xbox One S is advertised for 4K output. They'd better include a 4K-compatible cable!

    4k issues

    Hello Spinhead82,

Things are still in a state of change in the land of 4K UHD and haven't quite settled out yet. Part of this may have to do with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and trying to lock things down when it comes to all this 4K digital plumbing. Not only is it the
hardware, like needing to use HDMI 2.X cable. But, it's also the software. Does the firmware in the monitor/TV support the 4K UHD (HDCP 2.2)
content coming from the attached device ("Checking your TV's 4K and HDR capabilities on Xbox One S")? Yes, the Samsung U28E590D
can do 4K UHD, but does it support HDR10? HDR10 support seems to be a very important threshold when comes to connecting the Xbox One S to 4K UHD TVs. The current crop of 4K UHD monitors seems to be more directed to PC gamers. While, the Xbox One S is geared
more toward lager format TVs. I'm sure that this is not the only list, but Windows Central has what it calls "Best 4K HDR TVs For Xbox One S".

    Good luck and good gaming,

    Hisense 4K issues

On the Xbox One S games have to be upscaled to 4K. UHD BluRays and 4K digital video streaming will be output in native 4K on the Xbox One S.

Check with the HiSense support, why your TV would not detect a 4K signal from the console. Also make sure that your HDMI cable that you use is able to sustain the higher data rate of 4K video. If you have an older HDMI cable that is not HDMI2.2 compliant,
the cable might induce errors in the data stream, and the TV can't make any sense of the erroneous data coming through the cable.

    UHD set up?

It was made clear that the XBOX could support 4k but not that it does at the moment. Most games are not even on 1080p yet but rather on 900p. Blue Rays are remastered for 4k but are not true 4k yet with a few exceptions. I am sure in the following month
there will be a 4k update because youtube, netflix and a some other streaming sides are streaming 4k material.

For a game to be made in true 4k it would need about 120 to 150 GB. 3 games and your harddrive would be packed.

I also posted the HDMI issue a little earlier. 1.4 supports only 20/30 Hz but 2.0 50/60 Hz.

The truth is it will be along way for console players to see true 4k games on a console but todays consoles will be supportung video material in 4k pretty soon.

May Samsung UHD does a great job upscaling the xbox one picture anyways and I am already very happy the way it looks now.
