  1. HDMI Audio Extractor

I am planning on getting an Xbox Series X at some point and am not great at hardware stuff. I currently use the SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDac. I connect it thru an optical cable from my Xbox One S to the GameDac which thru USB is plugged into my laptop
so I can use Discord and get audio from both my laptop and Xbox at the same time. As there is no optical port on the Series X I heard there was a workaround with and HDMI audio extractor of which I have looked up and there is a ton of options with a lot of
numbers of which I have no idea what I need. I was wondering whay the best option would be for me to get to have the best audio quality I can have. Thanks!

    :)

    Xbox into monitor/hearing no sound

So where would I be able to plug in the HDMI audio extractor because all the sources behind my monitor are all in use?
These devices have two HDMI ports. You connect the console and audio lead/s to the extractor and then the extractor goes into the monitor.

I need help from a really experienced person dealing with HDMI conversion

Hi buddy. That cable would work for the video but not the audio. But then all you'd need for that is a straight HDMI to DVI cable.

In order to get the audio from the HDMI, you'd need an HDMI Audio Extractor, something like this:

    www.amazon.co.uk/.../ref=sr_1_5

That will convert the audio into analogue for you and will work with both the monitor and your TB's.

4K Picture but forced to use DVD quality Sound?

Below is an audio extractor that is a solution to the problem, however there is no stock available anywhere...

HDMI PCM Uncompressed sound is like a soaring eagle while, in comparison, optical sound is like that blind kid's budgie in the first Dumb and Dumber movie.

    Audio issue with series X

Hi Jakobey. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

If your TV has an optical port, it's recommended to connect your sound system to your TV instead.

If your TV does not have an optical port, you'll need to use a 3rd party HDMI audio extractor to add an optical output to your Series X. The audio extractor you purchase will need to support HDMI 2.1 to ensure you get the best output from your console. You can find HDMI audio extractors on online stores such as Amazon, it will vary depending on region so I'm unable to recommend a specific extractor.

Please reach back if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
