    HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4

    Hi,

The only adaptors I've seen online are HDMI 1.4 to DP 1.2 and due to the limitations of HDMI 1.4, the best you could possibly hope for for would be 1440P/60 - but more likely 1080P/60. UHD (or 4K) is bandwidth limited to 30Hz on HDMI 1.4, so no way to hit
    2160P/60.

As already pointed out by ROBIN H 25, these adaptors are only one way. It has to be HDMI to DP, not the other way around. They are not bi-directional. They also have to be 'Active', in other words 'powered'.

I can't see any adaptors being any good though, at least not for gaming.

    HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4

There's no HDMI 2.1 to Displayport 1.4 adaptors available as of yet,

There are Displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adaptors available, but the signal only goes one direction and the Series X does not have a Displayport,

also with adaptor you run the risk of getting higher latency input, lower refresh rate, poor image quality,

for a clean bandwidth signal, it's best to connect straight HDMI to HDMI or Displayport to Displayport.

Xbox Series X , converting hdmi 2.1 to Display port 1.4

    Hi,

As far as I'm aware there are no HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 converters, HDMI 2.0 to DP 1.4 doesn't exist either. Also, you can't just do this kind of thing with any cable. The adaptor has to be 'Active' (i.e. powered). Plus, it has to be the right direction. The
cable must be HDMI to Display Port. A DP to HDMI won't work. They are not bi-directional. I'm no expert on these things, but I understand the basics.

You'll find a lot if not most monitors are locked to 1080p when it comes 120Hz support. And since they are are HDMI 1.4, you probably won't be getting high refresh rates.

    Xbox series x

    Hi,

Highly, highly unlikely. To support Display Port would require a new motherboard design. In any case, HDMI 2.1 is 48Gb/s whereas DP 1.4 is 32Gb/s. Clearly HDMI 2.1 wins out here. The newer version of Display Port (2.0) is far too overkill for the Series X.

Not to mention that there are lots of monitors and TV's now that support HDMI 2.1.
