    HDMI 2.1, 4K 144hz Gaming Monitor's for Xbox Series X, Part 2 update.

This is a post I first started, about the first 4K 144hz HDMI 2.1 Gaming monitors, that will be ideal for Series X to get that 4K 120hz, link down here...

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...series-x/7c8f7d57-86ab-47f0-8cdd-f927bd0f3f81

This is more of an update to the original post with some new monitors that are on the way that I will put links to the monitor's info below...

Now, I know that there's only a going to be a select few games that may just about hit the up to 120fps at 4K on Series X, unlikely it will be the AAA games, maybe just the multiplayer aspect of some AAA games that may get the up to 120fps but it will depend
on how the game dev's will optimize their games to even get up to 120fps at 4K, I know most games will just be locked to 60fps at 4K,

With the Series X being a new generation console, like with past generation consoles, it take time for game dev's to get the full potential out of the new hardware, resulting in better performance over time, hopefully this will lead to more games in the
future to achieve 4K 120fps or as close to 120fps,

I also have a 4K Gaming PC that running a RTX 2080 Ti that will be getting upgraded to the RTX 3080 Ti when it releases, but I only have a 4 year old 4K 60hz Gaming monitor that will be upgraded to a 4K 144hz with HDMI 2.1, to also make it compatible with
these next gen consoles without any issues,

So I'm going to be " killing two birds with one stone " with my monitor upgrade, as I'm using my monitor for both PC and console gaming at 4K,

In my original post, these first new 4K 144hz HDMI 2.1 monitor were due to be released around Q1 this year but they have been pushed back to the end of Q2-Q3 this year ( end of April is the first one to release if no more delays ),

These's are the links to the upcoming HDMI 2.1 4K 144hz monitors...

Monitor for my Xbox one X

At this moment i think is better and wait a few more month to see the new gen hardware, because you can get 4k at 144hz at a good price.
    I agree, but...

You'll have to make sure that a 4K 144hz monitor has HDMI 2.1 or you will still be limited to 60hz with the Xbox Series X or PS5

But as of yet there is no 4K 144hz monitors with HDMI 2.1,

HDMI 2.0 can do 4K at only 60hz,

    HDMI 2.1 can do 4K at 120hz.

A lot of eye's are on this monitor... https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27gn950-b-gaming-monitor, as it could be the first 4K 144hz monitor with HDMI
    2.1.

Will The Xbox series X work on a 1080p monitor?

You can still use the 1080p monitor but it will only run at 60hz, Xbox doesn't support 75hz, its either 60hz or 120hz that supported,

Games will look so much better on a 4K monitor, if you choose to get one, but bare in mind if want to get the full potential out of a 4K monitor and Series X, best to get one with HDMI 2.1,

Though 4K HDMI 2.1 monitor's are not available as of yet, end of April is when they'll start to release if not more delays,

I'm waiting for the release of these new 4K monitor's, as i'll be getting one of these...

Monitor for my Xbox one X

    Hello,

Sorry for my language, (google translate).

I'm looking for a monitor for my Xbox one X, ...

My question is, is it worth buying a monitor at more than 60HZ in 4k ???

Does Xbox One x accept more than 60 Hz ???

    Thank you for your answers.
It is worth buying a 4K 144hz monitor for Xbox Series X, However you need to make sure the monitor has HDMI 2.1,

"Does Xbox One X accept more than 60hz ?"

    At 4K , No,

Xbox One X uses HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.0 bandwidth can only do 4K at 60hz,

HDMI 2.1 of the Xbox Series X will allow it to go to 4K at 120hz, but only if you have a TV or monitor with HDMI 2.1, and a refresh rate of 120hz or higher.

White Flickers while watching movies/streaming? 4k UHD 60hz monitor no HDR

I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

    120hz

    for 120hz you need i think hdmi2.1.

besides connecting the s at 120hz is not going to magically let it run at 120fps, you will be lucky to get 40fps on most games. kills my eyes running so slow.
HDMI 2.1 is only needed if you plan to game at 4K for 120hz , on a 4K 144hz monitor, However there's no gaming monitors available at the moment, that yet has HDMI 2.1, the first HDMI 2.1 monitors that are likely to come in are around the same time as the
    Series X (Q4) launch or early 2021 (Q1),

1080p and some 1440p monitors can do 120hz over HDMI 1.4 if it's supported, but best ideally is HDMI 2.0 for 1440p for 120hz,

    HDMI 2.0 can do 1080p / 1440p at 120hz and 4K at 60hz,

    HDMI 2.1 can do 1080p / 1440p / 4K at 120hz.

For the Xbox Series X, it best to get a 4K TV or monitor that supports 120hz and has HDMI 2.1, to get the full potential out of the Series X.
