HDD's compatible with the Xbox 360 s

So I recently got Fallout 3, Fallout NV, and Skyrim, all of which were the GOTY editions. So I go to download the DLC and Oh-Noes! Apparently I need to have a HDD because the 4gb memory in the slim is a "memory card" and I need something that isn't so simple
to break, and I'd like to know any cheap HDDs that I can buy, preferably like 20gbs. I put the second disk in and a error reads,"DLC requires Xbox 360 Hard drive, Please attach Xbox 360 hard drive." I would like a link to one or a store that sells

    :)

Can I use 250GB Slim HDD in new "sleek" model?

Yes, the 360 S (Slim) and 360 E (Sleek) use the same HDD's so it will be compatible with the new model 360.

    360 Slim External Hard Drive
I was wondering if it was possible to use the 20GB Xbox hard drive as an external one on the 360 Slim by connecting it with a transfer cable or do I have to buy another

    hard drive?
Xbox 360 HDD's are not compatible with Xbox 360 S consoles. You'll either need to buy an additional HDD that is meant for the Xbox 360 S console or you can use 16GB or smaller Flashdrives to increase your console's storage capacity.

only hard drives compatible with the 360 are MS drives made for the 360 they came in 250 320 and 500 gig sizes for slim which is what the 4 gig models are.

I have a 1tb Western Digital WD Elements external drive hooked up to my 360 and it works just fine. Where are you getting information that says you can ONLY use Microsoft drives?

External USB drives can work fine for storage, but there are certain 360 games and backwards compatible games that require an official MS hard drive because of the system files on them. If a game is asking for a hard drive, it is looking for a 360 drive.

Hey there Peef HDD's compatible with the Xbox 360 s :)

Most games can be installed on pretty much all compatible external drives on the console. As Smwutches pointed out, some may require an official MS HDD which you can easily find on the internet with a simple search in the online retailers' websites.

This guide can help you with the connectivity part if you need any:

As CRAMMZ pointed out, one option is WD Elements which works without problems on the console. HDD's compatible with the Xbox 360 s :)

Feel free to ask if you happen to have questions!

    downloaded game not working

Correct, all backwards compatible games require an official HDD, and that is the only official HDD for the Xbox 360 S.

How do I delete games from my Xbox? I only have a 4gb HD.

Go to the System Tab> Memory> Games and simply pick which Item you wish to Delete. As for Installing a new Xbox 360 HDD, simply remove the top cover and snap in place. Don't forget to replace the cover afterwards.

Just remember, a new Xbox 360 S must use a new S HDD. An "old fat" Xbox 350 must use an "old" HDD. The two are not compatible.

Can I use 250GB Slim HDD in new "sleek" model?

  11. Mister Fitzer Win User

Somehow it still will not work...

Microsoft only manufactures one HDD for the Xbox 360 S, and that's the 250 GB. If you purchased an HDD for this model console that was any other size, it is not an official product, and thus not officially supported. To play backwards compatible games, you
will need to us an official Microsoft HDD.
