    Ok so are you better off with a plugged in HDD or just connected to the Xbox One?

    That to me is the normal humming sound of an xbox one hard disc turning on.

    Very creative the panning of the camera to capture the trademark multitude before zooming in; I would suggest you to not keep other sources of heat near your console though, for it may cause damage.

    lol that's not my video... i found it on youtube and sounds like mine hahaha, so is that normal right? because i ask two friends who have xbox one and they said their consoles doesnt do that sound...

    There are two version of hard disc drive for xbox one the old version and the hybrid version. The hybrid version makes less noise and is faster maybe this is what causes your friends to think differently of the humming noise you hear.

    Again in my opinion that noise is quite normal.

    It is very normal, both my xbox and PC makes this noise on start up. I believe it is your hard drive booting up.

    Sure, but I dont understand... my console is the white one... and their is the black one... the xbox black is older than white... so white should come whith the hybrid rigth?

    But if is this normal i get in peace now hahaha

    The hybrid Hdd is available only with the xbox one elite bundle and they are all black, yet I think you got the gist of it already: There is nothing to worry about that humming, it just means your console is starting up.

    Oh right... my friend's console are not the elite, but i think they did not pay attention on noises... that's normal, i have to stop beeing paranoid hahahaha... thank's guys

    Thank You So much. I am going to buy a 1TB External HDD and use it as my Primary Storage for Games and the Xbox One HDD will be for the System so that the Xbox One HDD don't slow down.

    I would agree if the Xbox one couldn't use an external HDD, but it can, so the 500GB HDD was plenty to begin with. 1 TB xbox ones are also available right now.

    The WD HDD Book version is just as good as the passport, they both use WD HDD drives. Mine has run since the update and works perfect!
