HDD problem

    HDD problem


    While watching videos last night on my xbox my HDD disappeared and would not pick back up. tried all the steps for switching usb spots. reset xbox. even factory reset. Finally for it to pick the HDD back up but now it shows none of my installed games or
    apps. its shows that the HDD is fresh and brand new. What in the world happened? has anyone else ever had this problem happen?

    HDD Problem

    Its an official MS HDD. But he connected the HDD to the console with a transfer cable so I think he formatted it :/

    HDD problem

    The only things to try are clearing the cache, and as a last resort, format the hard drive. If that doesn't work it's time for a new hard drive.

    To make sure, were you able to try out the steps in our guide for external hard drive detection

    issues    ?

    Also, when you were able to connect your external hard drive again, were you able to reinstall all of your games again?

    Lastly, are you enrolled in the Xbox One Preview Program? If so, have you encountered any other users reporting this issue over in the
    Preview Forums?

    Sorry, but whatever link you found online is incorrect. An Xbox hard drive cannot be formatted on the pc. I should only be used for the Xbox. I'm afraid your only option here will be to purchase a new hard drive now.

    If you originally downloaded the games on a different console, you may need to transfer your licenses in order to play while not connected to Xbox Live. The following link should help: support.xbox.com/.../download-content

    Did he format it accidentally?. If so there is no fix.

    Is it an official MS HDD and did you use an official transfer cable?.
