    HDD not stopping


    Hello!

    Usually when I turn off my Xbox One S the HDD doesn't stop working. And some times when this was happening I was just unplugging the power, but then after doing that a few times I saw that the console was slower. I think I damaged it. Please tell me what to do to stop the HDD when I turn my console off or if anything else is wrong.

    Nice to meet you and I hope you are having a great day!

    I understand you need help in turning off your HDD from the Xbox.

    You can actually try doing this on the console from the settings.

    Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power mode & start-up. The make sure to check Turn off external storage while Xbox is off.

    Most of the time, this is actually normal if the Xbox is still plugged in to the outlet because the light on your hard drive indicates that it is still getting electricity from the outlet when it is plugged in to the console.

    It is most likely on stand by mode and unplugging the Xbox console from the outlet does not damage the external hard drive. It could just be some cache stored to the hard drive.

    It is from the console. I am sure is HDD activity, after much time hearing 2,5" HDD from laptops. The fan runs for a while and then stops. But the HDD never stops, if you approach the ear you can always hear some HDD activity. But no real activity, as it
    sounds a millisecond, stops, a ms, stops...like it has nothing to do but doesn't spin down.

    Has your HD Texture Pack installed correctly.

    Probably right, the disc stops a little while after the disc loads because the game is then running from the HDD, if you don't have the game installed to the HDD the disc won't stop spinning, either way will work. It's the disc stopping that causes the problem.

    If your HDD is full, it's clear. Uninstall some games and the message stops showing. It is not recommended to fill the HDD to the maximum.
