HDD not being recognized after downloading the Games for Gold game

Pretty much I was downloading the new game on my Halo Reach Xbox 360 Slim with 250g HDD and I turned it off after it was done. As I tried to turn the console on now, it was asking me to update and then after looking at it, the HDD was not recognized. I
took it out and put it back in and it's still not working.

I have never had any problems with the HDD and never removed it from the console before today. The unit is not under warranty and it fires up and plays the way it should but it won't let me play any games without running a security update as it doesn't
have a drive in it.

A follow up question, are the games with gold that I downloaded all gone if I have to install a new HDD? This is pretty much pissing me off since I'm pretty sure it was the new game that caused this.

I could also download gold games with trial , only issue was after 2 days my trial gold which was to expire on the 11th stopped being recognized and even though I was gold I couldn't access anything

 

Xbox live gold error

Hi, after buying and activating a code for an annual subscription to xbox live gold, I found problems to play multiplayer. Although the account is recognized as gold, I can not play online games like Fifa 18, Halo and others.

 

It's not the game. I've been reading that problem is with the hard drive itself when this occurs but I'm just as new to this issue as you are. My Xbox did the same thing a few days ago. I've had my Xbox for 4 years and it froze as I was playing XCOM. When
I went to reboot, it couldn't recognize anything on my drive and I was force to format it, losing all my saved data.

Go to Storage under System Settings on your Xbox and see what it is saying about your hard drive. If it says your hard drive is unformatted than you have no other option but to format. Formatting the hard drive will delete all data on it. However, if you
Xbox can't recognize anything on it to begin with then you've already lost it all.

Again, I'm new to this issue as well so you should read some of the other forums about the issue to get a better understanding.

 

I have the problem of that my HDD is making my xbox splash screen freeze for about 15 minutes and I cannot access anything on it because of the formatting problem. I am going to attempt to backup everything on an already used HDD by computer via XPort and
transfer Kit and Then use the transfer kit to transfer content from the Malfunctioning HDD to the Backed-up HDD, and format the Malfunctioning HDD.

Note: The Malfunctioning HDD cannot be backed up on computer, I tried but when i came to open the subfolder Partition 3 it disconnected and quit working.

 

My Idea failed, it also asked to customize/format the USB. I am to think that the only way to retrieve the junk on the HDD would to be bringing it into a device repair shop or radio shack. The last of the options would be to just reformat it
